There have been some people posting for awhile that they expect him to give up on football and just focus on academic opportunities. I guess we'll see what happens. I mean, I can totally see why someone in his shoes would do that if he isn't passionate about football.

Wow. That potential transfer list would be one of the most interesting ever.

Do Swarthmore and Amherst have football?

* Uh-oh.... Annapolis is actually the 12th rated Liberal Arts school in the country. But do you think he could get a recommendation?

FWIW, Sampson has been looking into this for a little while. He was told last weekend Corey is all in and looking to lead the football team next year. He was considering options outside of football (he graduates in May) however, he will return and pursue a Rhodes Scholarship and Fulbright Scholarship.

That's what's up.

ND may not have found it's next Michael Floyd in Corey but news like that makes me think more along the lines of Allen Page..

That's good to hear. Some people on ISD said something similar when it was brought up. With WR depth the way it is, I really think he's an important player for next year.

We're going to need the experience with the departure of Brown and Fuller.

Corey Robinson is running to be next year's student body president. Not sure exactly what this means about his commitment to football. On an additional note, Jerry Tillery is the campaign manager for another student body president candidate.

This will be epic. Finally some IE political talk that I can get into.

Scared me with this bump. At first I was thinking 'ahh that's okay if he want's to transfer, he can get some solid PT elsewhere' then I thought 'Ahh shit no more Admiral' then I thought again 'This actually stings because he comes up clutch when we need him the most'. Now I am relieved it's only about how great of a student-athlete he is. Early nominee for Notre Dame Man 2017, IMO.

Tillery's campaign was suspended because they were late to some filings, while the name will still appear on the ballot it can't actually be voted for.

My "sources on campus" (students and players that I know...) told me the issue of Corey wanting to play next year is still in question but as of now he is planning on playing. They told me about the Student Body President stuff a couple of weeks too for what it's worth. Either way does not sound like he has too much of a future in football past maybe next year.

Tillery campaigning for another student to win so that Corey doesn't and has more time for football. Now that's team work.

I bet Robinson is a Bernie Sanders guy.

He's too smart not to be ;)

I hope Robinson goes for the Rhodes scholarship. I want him on our football team but he's one of 85, on that team. One of thousands who play CFB. We have 32 spots for the Rhodes scholarship and it'd be an incredible experience to study for 1-3 years at Oxford.

Robinson, Blais elected student body president, VP // The Observer

Katie Galioto | Thursday, February 11, 2016
The campaign for student body president and vice president ended Wednesday night as the Judicial Council announced junior Corey Robinson and sophomore Becca Blais as the winners of this year’s election.

Robinson and Blais were up against two other tickets in the race: juniors Dominic Alberigi and Jennifer Cha, and juniors Louis Bertolotti and Elizabeth Fenton.

...

Robison and Blais will officially take office on April 1.

(N.B. Teammate Jerry Tillery was campaign manager for the Bertoloti/Fenton slate.)

Thanks for posting, Bud!

I, silly as it seems, am very proud of Corey. I have followed his career from shortly after the time he was offered, had a chance to meet him, have known several others who know him pretty well, and have always been very impressed with every facet of young Mr. Robinson.

I once even told his dad, that as far as I was concerned, Corey was his best achievement, NBA championships and all-star teams included.

I liked the article, his Vice-President calling the experience, 'transformative.'

It makes me feel better, some, that a young man of this caliber is showing an interest in public service, and politics, with the slime out there, year in and year out.

I hope no one makes this a hackneyed, cynical, trite conversation about Repubs, versus Dems, or a Saunders versus Trump debate. This has nothing to do with that.

This is about a high character young man with incredible talent, that seems to be well adjusted, others oriented, with a sense of honor, justice, and equality.

I wish Corey the best in this endeavor, hope he shows how to balance this, his student life and his football. And, speaking of football, I hope he balls out his senior year!

Believe I read somewhere it was approved by ncaa

Yeah, not only approved, but supported, and promoted.

What would be the improper benefit of athletes giving clothes away? Selling, or selling for outrageous amounts would be one thing, but donating to charity?
