They have 8 kids from Serra high school currently on USC's roster. Yes not every single player goes there but the majority do.

University of Serra Cavaliers.

How is it that even when the program is in disarray, it continues to thrive in recruiting. Even Texas couldn't withstand a few years of mediocrity.

Because it's USC. Why does Notre Dame continue to get players it has no business getting?

Oh, the life outside of football isn't too bad at USC either.

If they have 3 commits within a 5 year time frame it's considered a pipeline. Right?

I once read here that all players from a HS must go to same college for it to be a pipeline. While 3 out of 5 is impressive, just doesn't qualify for pipeline.

With that criteria I dont think any school would qualify to be a pipeline school.

Pretty sure ND recruiting suffered significantly during the dark years after Holtz left. And who would you say ND has no business getting?

vice versa

Oh OK, that's kinda my point - in our darker hours, recruiting suffers. Yet SC, who has not been the same since Carroll left (including two VERY dysfunctional coaching situations) continues to bring in top class after top class.

And there's a huge reason for that........the head coach at Southern Cal can walk out of his office, and while he may just be an awfully shitty jackass of a head coach, he's got top talent within a stones throw, and an awful lot of it. Throw in the fact they're in Southern California, with pretty good weather all year round, and it makes it soo much easier to recruit in California. Notre Dame has no such luxury when it comes to recruiting the number of high caliber talent Southern Cal can. Hence, ND has to recruit nationwide and while that means Southern California included, there are always going to be kids who grow up rooting, and dreaming of playing for the Condoms. Same way we get Catholic kids who grow up dreaming about the Blue and Gold.

In my haste I responded that's what a pipeline is after another poster stated that was what I was implying. I should have used italics. I clarified what I thought a pipeline was multiple times after that.

-They were the best team in college football while these kids were growing up.
- It's a pretty good school
- It's L.A.(women, celebrities, glamour...)
- So much HS talent surrounds them
- We can go on and on...

Dude, the more you keep complaining about it and letting people know how much it bothers you, the more people will keep ribbing you for it and the longer it will stay alive. It might even be too late in face because you've shown how much it bothers you in several posts now. Classic locker room behavior. Not saying it's right but it's just the way it is.

Almost happened to me once but I never commented on it and it eventually died off and it wasn't mentioned after that one day. MOST people understand your second point (your OP was way off but I think you admitted that) and now it's just people joking around...act like Elsa and let it go and you'll be fine.

Hope he doesn't plan on playing on Sundays then because it's cold as hell during the playoffs!

I know other posters have mentioned this previously, but it annoys me when people make a post like this.

When players get drafted they don't have a choice what City they are going to. when they hit free agency they may have a handful of choices.

But going to college these 17 year old kids actually get to choose which school they will attend. So if the kid wants to spend 3 to 4 years in nice weather in SoCal on the beach, knowing in 3 to 4 years they could be drafted to a cold City, why not control your own destiny as it pertains to beautiful weather.

You only live once and you only experience college once.
