Nothing rehabs an injured player like this replacement breaking schools passing records in only 3 quarters of play.

The announcers made a couple of conflicting statements during the game about Kiel's medical treatment. They commented that a decision will be made about the sideline reporter going to the the hospital. Later I believe they said that reporter was with the family at the hospital. After that they noted that Kiel was being treated in the stadium. The announcers were either reporting erroneous reports or were reporting speculation. They did a good job of adding confusion to the situation.

thank you...i knew i could still hear.

So that justifies your comment about Kiel being a drama queen after getting hit in the helmet and knocked out? Especially when your actions recently have been FAR more 'drama queen' than what Gunner did last night?

Hahahahaha...God bless you man.

Been around a couple of guys in my fairly short life that haven't been able to kick those until rock bottom hit and that bottom was brutal. Best wishes Gunner.

Those were (and probably still are) a huge problem up in New Hampshire. I knew a few people up there from my time in high school that had a huge issue with painkillers. Probably one of the harder drug habits to kick. Hopefully Gunner gets better.

From a close friend of mine that is now recovered and in AA, of all the stuff he got mixed up in, he said those were by far the hardest to kick.

Yeah, it tends to get worse before it gets better, especially if people graduate to heroin, as they often do nowadays because it's cheaper and easier to get.

Get well Gunner.

Must be addictive as hell. Our neighbor just had his wife and three kids walk out and a month later still choosing the drug over them. I pray for everyone who is trying to overcome addiction.

Some Cincinnati outlets have been confirming the rumors via "sources."

Hopefully Gunner can get himself right.

On the football side of things, I had wondered if there was something wrong with him after seeing his last few games, and I'm not trying to be an ass. I realize how it sounds, but some of his decisions and the throws he was making were nearly inexplicable, based on the flashes he had shown previously. I just figured it was an injury or that he was mentally shaken up from the rough season.

Damn this is terrible news. Feel so sorry for the kid. I knew him during his short time at ND and he was a stand up guy. Never saw him drink alcohol, even in the off season

Southern Indiana where Gunner is from has a huge drug problem as well. As an example many counties give out needles to druggies to stop the outbreak of HIV. All kinds of different drugs around this area.

Regardless, hopefully Gunner can beat this. He is one hell of a talent and from what I hear a good person too.

To be fair, Columbus is an island. It stands out from all the other towns south of Indy... more so than even Bloomington. A buddy of mine has been with Cummins for years and it always amazes me how nice the town is. As a stand alone city, I think Valparaiso is the only place better in the state. I exclude the Noblesville to Zionsville suburbs because they've been swallowed by Indy.

Yeah, you are correct. Columbus is a nice town with a pretty cool downtown area. I know all about Cummins, they are my client...work takes me to Columbus quite often. Your buddy and I might know each other.

I've only drove through Valpo, might have to make a trip this spring when the weather turns.

Painkillers aren't the drug epidemic of poor people. Pills (and more recently heroin) has plagued wealth white suburbs of Long Island where I'm from.

My senior year I had wrist surgrey and was pretty hooked on them for a couple months. It's tough to kick and I hope Gunner is doing alright. It can be brutal for about a week then you just have to be mentally strong. God Bless Gunner

Opiate addiction is serious shit gentlemen. I counsel that population daily. It knows absolutely no boundaries.
I just hope he hasn't gotten into heroin, which is an all too common progression.

I'm familiar with the work that you do Alamo. The Toxicology Lab that I work for provides drug screening to treatment centers, pain clinics, suboxone clinics, methadone clinics, hospitals, family practice OBGyn, Ortho etc. Addiction has no boundries. Black-white, male-female, rich-poor, athlete-band member. it doesn't matter. I've witnessed addiction from all walks of life from every group you can come up with. I too, prey that Gunner hasn't made the leap to herion. Recovery rates are incredibly low once that threshold is crossed. Drug screening, therapy, separation from the environment, and a strong support group gives the patient the best chance. I pray for Gunner.

Once you hit this stage it is beyond bad. Between riding on the Ambulance and dispatching (911) i have had probably 100 heroin overdoses just this year alone. It is drug that has no bounds white, black, rich and poor. The worse part is having their family finding them it hard to hear that emotion.

I don't know what the answer is but what they are doing here locally isn't working. But the heath depts giving out narcan is a extremely bad idea. A lot of our police officers carry it so if they are closer to the call then the Ambo they can hit them with it. But I personally think that the health depts are give false impressions. 1. You won't be able to overdose 1 once a week for a long period of time and take this and expect the same reaction. Your body will get use to this. 2. Have you ever seen someone that you have given the whole does of Narcan? Talk about pissed off. 10ft and bullet proof is the best way to describe that. So they may not willing me to hurt you but they probably will.
