Alabama, USC, and FSU are competing for championships and recruiting titles every year.

Tomon Fox is not committed to UNC in hopes of becoming a take for ND later on.

I also don't believe ND told him "not right now."

First of all, I'm just bringing what others are saying. I've never acted as if I was there.

Secondly, WTF do those team have to do with this situation? I'll tell you nothing is the answer.

I don't know who you are responding too but dad4aa brought those teams up and Irish Man3 pointed out the difference.

Having said that, are you ok Lucky? You seem to be really short with people lately.

It sounded like UNC was the clear leader before the visit, he checked out ND but felt it wasn't for him. What can you do? Not everyone is going to love ND. The key is getting kids on campus, I like our chances when that happens.

I can dig it. I just get annoyed it seems like every time ND is spurned by a 3 star player it's because we told him 'no thanks'....I hate sour grapes.

Unless you spoke with him, I would preface this statement with "I don't believe". Sounds too much like fact over opinion.

I never said ND told him not right now, that was in response to what a poster said earlier. That is why I said "If ND is telling him not right now"

Everything from my speculation (video that the ship has sailed) is speculation.

Was he number one on everyone's board?

Otherwise, #forgetaboutit!

If our staff told a talented defensive end "No thanks," then our staff is a bunch of jackasses.

I don't think our staff is a bunch of jackasses.

I handed the 'Hoover' title over to him. He's the next generation of fun-sucker.

Per an interview with Woody Wommack he's looking to take an OV to ND after his season. Also, thinking about an unofficial to NC State. He's having a strong senior season and Wommack is hearing that we could emerge the leader if he does indeed visit.

Who the hell goes to UNC for football when you have other legitimate options? They're actually having a good year but I assume he committed before that. UNC for football? way to shoot for the middle.

Is he a legit 6'3" or is he a Carlo Kemp 6'3"?

What happens when you win. Saw a similar thing late in the 2012 season. Hopefully his grades are in order.

It hasn't always translated to team success but they've put a lot of defensive players in the league over the last 5-10 years.

From the interview academics is a focus so I'd assume they should be good to go. All, should check out his senior highlights. Good looking prospect

Yeah think he should be a 4 star recruit. Really nice offer list and flashes great athleticism on film. Much better prospect then Carlo Kemp albeit they are much different players.

Would rather have him than Alloway taking one of the last spots in this class. Wouldn't count Fox instead of Hayes as a big loss either.

Well said and I agree. In fact, he moves up my want board quite a bit with this news.

When did d-line recruiting for ND get so good?

I got 3 reasons.

1. Winning
2. BVG seems to be impressing on the trail, both Beal and Fox noted that.
3. We have some DL that are playing extremely well. Okwara top 10 nationally in sacks and Day is playing about as well as any DT in the country right now.

I believe North Carolina is winning as well. I even heard some of the talking heads over the weekend making a case NC has a better claim at a playoff spot than ND.

I'm not disagreeing but we also won in 2012 and also had a very good d-line and the 2013 recruiting class was weak when it came to the d-line. So I guess reason #2 seems to be a good answer; the staff has been putting in work at every position. Also, BK recently said that they changed the overall look of the recruiting office. Maybe that has had a bigger impact than anyone could've possibly thought?

I'm not sure I agree with the analysis that it was weak. We ran a 3-4 at that time and those factors above contributed to signing Eddie V. He makes that class look totally different. Also, I look at it as front seven recruiting when you are running a 3-4 as some of those OLB's end up being pass rushers. We had Rochell, Eddie V, Randolph, After signing Day, Jarron Jones, and Okwara in 2012. I mean imagine this DL with a healthy Eddie V on it. Scary thought and a majority of the production is coming from those two classes.
