It is my understanding that this situation had been brewing for several months. When he decided to tackle it head on and take it seriously (what three weeks ago?) it appears to have been too little too late. Sounds like he failed to recognize the gravity of the situation and address it in a timely manner and got left holding the bag.

It seems like all of your posts include "to my understanding", "in my estimation" and "last I heard" comments. It's pretty clear that your opinions are based off of a pretty weak understanding of the timelines, people involved and events. Do what you want, but I think it makes you look bad when you continue to post such strong feelings about a topic you clearly don't know much about.

I'm not really sure what you're asking me or where you're going with this.

1. I am unaware of the Student Body President asking for a meeting with Wolfe, and Wolfe refusing to do so. At least, that is the inference that I took from your statement about Wolfe not being able to find the time to meet with him.

2. Quit trying to anticipate where I am headed, and then tailoring your answer(s) to try to head me off at the pass. I'm not headed anywhere. I'm simply trying to see the world as someone else sees it.

So why didn't you report it to the press and why were the gates not stormed? Probably because your making this up.

Yeah... that two years of my life I simply made up. Get out of here with that crap. If you want to know what's wrong with 'merica... look in the mirror dude. You will have your answer.

Let's take it down just a notch in here. All for political debates, but let's steer clear of personal attacks.

Just to make sure that this forum is keeping in mind what is important during events like this:
Joe Schmidt sucks. We should play Morgan.

I don't normally chime in on social/political topics on this forum because my opinions are probably largely at odds with most of you but with this Missouri situation...this is insane.

There's no evidence any "racist" events took place, meaning this racially charged protest (like 99% of other racially charged protests) is over nothing more than rumors and fairy tales. The two administrators who stepped down over this are spineless cowards. If Mizzou is just so intolerably racist than perhaps these "protesters" should find another college to attend.

Of the protesters I've seen I don't think I've seen a single one who will ever contribute anything meaningful or valuable to American society in their entire lives. I see spoiled, emotionally stunted, and entitled college students throwing a hissy fit because they are incapable of dealing with the harsh realities of real life. These are the kind of people who cry for "safe spaces" and will end up nothing more than intellectually crippled overgrown children who will be dependents of the state or utilize their worthless Ethnic Studies major to become a barista at Starbucks or a sandwich artist at Subway.

To them I would say grow up, because poop swastikas aren't worth shutting down college campuses over. One day they're going to find themselves in a station in life where they are no longer coddled and they'll be dealing with people who aren't nearly as spineless or pathetic as the Chancellor of the U of Mizzou was.

This makes the season premiere of South Park even better... talk about nailing it.

I had barely caught scenes much less whole episodes the last 2-3 years. But something made me want to catch it this year and they have been knocking it out of the park (pun intended) with this whole season long PC theme.

In their 19th season, show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have taken aim squarely at the thought-crime police. But they aren’t relaying a message about how suffocating a society built on the foundations of political correctness can be by preaching about it; they are putting the citizens of South Park through it, and in doing so, they’re showing us all just how ludicrous we’ve become.

Let's assume that I am. That means you are arguing with a teenager on the internet.

You're right and I should have known better, Remember the saying, "Hire a teenager while they still know everything."

To think money makes things easier is a load of crap. It might make paying the bills easier, but it doesn't make looking for a job any easier. It doesn't make having to uproot your family any easier. It doesn't make the mental anguish easier. It doesn't erase the negatives associated with him and his name any easier.

Some statistical facts supporting both "sides." Seems that the rate black students drop out of Mizzou has increased since 2006. On the other hand 414 black staff/faculty would need to be hired to meet the 10% demands which shows how ridiculous the demands are.

Mizzou Would Need 400 More Black Faculty And Staff To Meet Students’ Demands | FiveThirtyEight

Curious to the bold. What has the dropout rates for white students done over that same time period?

How does the dropout rates for blacks at Mizzou compare to other colleges and universities in the state?

Notre Dame and diversity

Notre Dame and diversity

From ND's Diversity and Inclusion program:
"Consciously create an environment of mutual respect, hospitality and warmth in which none are strangers and all may flourish."
– Notre Dame Spirit of Inclusion Statement

From ND's Black Alumni's Mission Statement and the History at Notre Dame on the Diversity and Inclusion website.

An excerpt from the book "Black Domers: Seventy Years at Notre Dame" by Marine General Jerome Gary Cooper

From Notre Dame Magazine: Soundings: Black Domers

About Father Hesburgh's life championing civil rights,
"From the exhausting fact-finding missions to the final deliberations over wording, Father Hesburgh was acknowledged as the principal architect of the Civil Rights Act and served on the Civil Rights Commission from its inception in 1957 until 1972, when President Nixon replaced him after he criticized that administration’s civil rights record."

A tribute to Notre Dame's Father Ted Hesburgh
"He (Hesburgh) described the work of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, of which he was a charter member, and how it had helped lead to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act, which had been signed just a few months earlier in 1965. I realized later that what he really was talking about was hope, and he left us hopeful."

So everyone knows what Notre Dame stands for.

Dropout rates have improved since 2002 for Whites. Can't answer the second question.

They are both since 2002. I just wasn't summarizing consistently. My bad. Here's the chart...

Hispanics do better than blacks. I'm not opening a can of worms, but wonder how much of that is related to closeness of the family and the kids upbringing?

There are probably dozens of reasons why the statistics are what they are other than racism. I'm just presenting all the information that's out there.

So universities in New york and Chicago are having protests to demand better treatment for black students??? Are there anymore ethnically diverse areas in the country?

Rumor was circulating earlier today that he was resigning. If it is health related, then I hope he recovers fully. Man probably made a poor decision with this whole mess, but I sure don't wish no ill will on him either.
