Hmm, played in eleven games last year...not a peep. Hasn't played this year....suddenly hates SB.

Calm down young buck. You're a sophomore playing behind a much better DE. Your time will come.

Someone saw that and probably said, "Dude you better take that down before BK hears about it". Does he think he should be getting playing time?

Maybe he just hates South Bend. Plenty of students love ND and wouldn't want to go anywhere else...but also absolutely hate the town of South Bend.

he actually played in at least one game. I definitely remember him on the field with Bonner.

My mistake then. I thought I recalled the plan to redshirt him. Regardless, there doesn't seem to be a huge rotation at the DL and he's not getting in ahead of Day, Rochelle, Okwara, and Trumbetti.

Yeah, we gave him like 2 snaps in one game that have no impact on the season, just to burn his red shirt. Classic BK use of the RS.

It's really been on the DL that this has been an issue.

As long as it was before the 5th game, it wouldn't have burned his red shirt.

I'm actually surprised he made it through fall camp his freshman year.

Any play time will burn a redshirt. If it happens early in the season (first 30% of the season) than they can get a medical redshirt. Haven't heard about any injuries for Blankenship but I'm sure they can come up with something.

Really? Care to expound?

I was just thinking with the way Romeo and Isaac have stepped up their play, cutting opportunities this year, if that doesn't push the conversation : What are we in line to get for next year? Maybe some (all) of the rumors are true.

Sounds like a good number of the players are getting the pressure of commanded better performance, as in; 'You are not getting it this year, lookout with what we have coming in next!'

We've had a discussion on this, and can't recall which thread, but I think this is a misconception, unless the rules have changed or I was misinformed. I had a friend that played DI, and played in his first 4 games as a freshman. We went to party one night and he told us that he was going to redshirt after all. He said that as long as it's the first four games and you play a certain % of snaps, you can still get the redshirt.

It's also completely possible that he misunderstood and that the coaches were going to give him a *medical* redshirt after the fact.

Also, I think I've shared this story before, so I apologize to others who might view it as redundant.
