Kelly said he practiced there thru the week. Sounded like he had natural ability. Kelly said they could play him if necessary and he'd play really well.

He has actually been running snaps with the defense for three weeks

Anyone? This may be the most well rounded ND team in my adult life, but I still see a couple teams that are better. They're def deserving of a top five ranking tho IMO.
I will say that we can hang with anyone in the country. I don't see a team out there that is capable of handling us like Alabama did in 2012. We have a legitimate shot at running the table and winning the whole thing because we are a deep and talented team. Are we the "best" team in the country? Probably not but the best team doesn't win all the time. OSU wasn't the best team in the country last year.

Are you new here? Kmoose's Post Game Observations aren't.

KMoose has been doing a post game thread for years. If you'll look back you'll find the title has a consistent title, which includes an identifier such as (PITT '15) to distinguish them from previous years threads involving the same teams. Moose provides detailed pro and con observation that sets the tone for good follow up discussion.

Recently some eager twits have started puting up game threads sometimes while the game is still in progress. The O.P. is usually vapid but it's put up quick so they get the vbucks.

Merging the threads will simply put the detailed commentary well into the thread while the half baked commentary stays as the O.P.

Ive been around for 5 years and I always remembered that KMoose always starting the post game thread (except for a few times, but he's always appointed someone to do them). Recently however, it always seems to be somebody different. Do the vBucks seriously mean that much to people?

Agreed for the most part... Tho if we face bama, we lose, almost certainly...we won't be able to run against them and they'll take fuller away... Our front seven also won't be able to handle their running game.... Just my opinion.

Agreed! Although, not giving Saban 4 weeks to prepare and only 1 week, i believe we would play better than '12.

For the record, I'll be pretty surprised if anyone but bama wins the natty... And I think they'll roll LSU... Really, really hope I'm wrong on both counts...

The only thing to stop them is bad QB play. They are legit in EVERY other category! Everyone's best bet is to have Bama lose one more and eliminate themselves from the playoffs, cause even if Ole Miss runs the table, the committee will not leave Bama out of the playoffs for NOT winning the SEC.

Did ND burn Williams redshirt playing hiim this late in the year now?

I thought he was in line for a rs. Hadnt played but in beginning of the year.

No he played earlier, believe he got some carries in the Texas game.

Your basis for defending Schmidt's play is relying on ND's own media coverage? Seriously? Everything about their job is designed to inflate the team and players and downplay their weaknesses.

Again......... I am not defending Schmidt's play. In the live chat today, I even made mention of Schmidt making a really poor play on the screen that someone brought up earlier. But here is the trap that people are falling into:

Everyone wants ND to be the best team in the country. I get that. I would enjoy that as well. But the problem is that everyone is looking for that ONE reason that they aren't. If there's only ONE reason, then we can fix that and be the best team in the country. The truth of the matter is; it doesn't work that way. And, in trying to make it work that way, everyone is piling on Schmidt. They will even take good plays that he makes, and try to paint them as bad plays. It's annoying. We get to watch ND play 13 games a year, normally. We have played 9 so far. We're 8-1. People said there was no way we could beat USC with Joe Schmidt on the field. We did, and we beat them fairly handily. People said there was no way ND could make the playoffs with Joe Schmidt on the field. We're in really good position to do just that. I would have no problem with the coaches phasing in Joe's backup (Morgan or Martini?), to get them some playing time and see if they could take the starter's position away from Schmidt. I'm just tired of the piling on. Point out actual bad plays and its no big deal. Act like the coaches are only playing him because they like him and I am question you.

ETA: And, by the way, if you think that the post game show just props up ND players, then you need to start listening to it. Because they point out A LOT that is going wrong. It isn't as good as when it was Jack, Reggie, and Mirko Jurkovic, but it is still really good.

It wasn't meant to be a duplicate thread. Mine was a little later than Philly's because, I presume, his was meant to garner vbucks instead of initiating a substantive conversation about the game. Of course, I could be wrong...... but this OP is based on, and backed up by, game stats and more than "this was good, that sucked, something else was ok". I'm perfectly ok with this getting merged into the other one, if it bothers you.

lol yeah I care about Vbucks. I haven't used or bet with my vbucks in years. Sorry I forgot you sometimes put post game threads up.

FIFY... Which I think is bull, you can't win your division, let alone conference, you shouldn't compete for Nattys... IMO.

The surprising thing is that Morgan and Martini and Grace never see the field. I'll never understand that.

It's baffling... I get Joe starting and getting majority reps/PT,... but completely monopolizing it is mind numbing to me...

Because the coaches think we would have a better chance of winning if we play those guys. Heavy sarcasm intended.

I think this is fair. People who think the coaches aren't playing somebody else who is better are just flat out nuts. The coaches "EARN" their livings coaching FB (Which is f'ing awesome BTW) and there is no chance they would keep somebody in with somebody better sitting on the bench. I am confused why the lack of PT in certain situations, like today when the score was 42-17. Seems like a perfect pop to get some defensive guys some quality PT, but again, they have their reasons and I trust their judgement 100%

Just seems like getting a guy like Morgan in for the occasional series (especially when we're up by multiple scores) would be a good thing.

We absolutely need to start getting some snaps for Morgan/Martini/Grace. While Grace wouldn't do anything for us next year, I don't see him getting pushed around like Joe did today. Kid has heart, but he was absolutely getting manhandled and pushed around. That Clemson score from 10 yards out just looked ugly. Work these other guys in, get them reps, don't need to necessarily pull Joe all at once. Teams are going to attack Joe, especially once we get to a bowl.

Btw, this noon kickoff was the best thing ever! I can actually enjoy the rest of my Saturday for the first time in forever... Start every game at noon... I don't know how you fools claim to enjoy sweating it all Saturday long on late kickoffs, that sucks!

Kizer throws a perfect deep ball almost every time. I can't say enough good things about him.

A thread lacks credibility until Phork, Koonja or yes NDOM weigh in.

What on earth are we going to do to make all these talented QBs and RBs stick around next year? Good problem to have.
