I respect that you fight for Joe on the board, but c'mon, if you cannot see how bad the play is, then I seriously can't take your posts serious. I can't tell if you are just trolling just to troll or if you truly believe that Joe is playing good.

Please go back and rematch the game and watch nothing but Joe. When he is graded for this game, it will be in the negative double digits, it was atrocious!

And before you snap back, I have no problem whatsoever if coach thinks he should play over Morgan. Sure I wonder why, but they have way more evidence of "why" that I can ever have. I just can't take the "well look at the epic drop off after Joe went down last year..." stuff by people trying to defend his play, cause it has been terrible.

I'm not saying that he is playing well. I'm saying that he is not playing as bad as everyone is trying to make it out. Reggie Brooks said today, in the post game show on watchnd.tv, that the coaches have told him that Joe Schmidt has graded out well in every game this season. I will take the analytical, informed opinions of the coaches over the emotional, sometimes downright irrational, opinions of some NDNation types on here, any day.

Are we going to see a two quarterback system next year?
Tebow/Leak-like?
Give 8 the red zone and a series every quarter?

I don't know how you go back to a running quarterback when 14 has shown the ability to handle both.

Red zone offense, gents. Thing of beauty today and the reason Pitt didn't have a real chance. Great game. Like others, wished the score reflected the actual domination.

The will be the number one question for the team going into next season. Malik showed early he can clearly play at a high level and has lots of talent, while being a very well respected leader early on. We are seeing Kizer mature as a freshman and I could seriously see him playing in the NFL with his size, arm, and poise. He just needs to work on accuracy.

I think we have two very high calibre QBs and the decision to play one over the other will be extremely tough.

Josh Adams does a nice job of finding the opening and attacking it. Reminds me a lot of Ryan Grant.

Like I said, i trust the coaches completely on their decision to play Schmidt. I don't believe that he has graded out well in ANY game though and there is no chance he grades well in this game. I watched every single play on defense over and over and it was EXTREMELY bad! Maybe it was good blocking by Pitt, but he was supremely overmatched in todays game. I don't even want to imagine playing Bama or LSU or Ohio State when our MLB play is like this, cause it will be a slaughtering.

Only better(I hope)............. Grant was good, but only averaged about 4 yards a carry. I think Adams will end up much better than that.

This is the deepest group of RBs I remember us having since the Holtz era. If both Folston and Bryant come back next year, I think they are slotted behind Procise with Bryant also likely behind Adams on the depth chart. Ridiculous!

There was a QB scramble today during which Schmidt followed his "assignment" out of bounds at full speed with his eyes locked on his read. Meanwhile, the QB was 10 or 15 yards downfield. I'm sure he will grade out well on that play ... But it was a terrible football play. So what fans are seeing and what the coaches are seeing are both accurate. As a football fan, I know he is playing poorly. As a coordinator with his complex defensive system, he may value the idea of doing what you are supposed to do more than plays made by pure athleticism. Maybe he thinks that if everyone played like Joe, the D would be astounding!

The need for a duplicate thread would be?

It wasn't meant to be a duplicate thread. Mine was a little later than Philly's because, I presume, his was meant to garner vbucks instead of initiating a substantive conversation about the game. Of course, I could be wrong...... but this OP is based on, and backed up by, game stats and more than "this was good, that sucked, something else was ok". I'm perfectly ok with this getting merged into the other one, if it bothers you.

Malik looked great against Texas and good against LSU but terrible against Virginia (6-17 passing). If If Kizer pulls this off it is his job to lose next year. Malik will be the next man in or get some Andrew Hendrix packages.

Are you new here? Kmoose's Post Game Observations aren't.

KMoose has been doing a post game thread for years. If you'll look back you'll find the title has a consistent title, which includes an identifier such as (PITT '15) to distinguish them from previous years threads involving the same teams. Moose provides detailed pro and con observation that sets the tone for good follow up discussion.

Recently some eager twits have started puting up game threads sometimes while the game is still in progress. The O.P. is usually vapid but it's put up quick so they get the vbucks.

Merging the threads will simply put the detailed commentary well into the thread while the half baked commentary stays as the O.P.

"DeShone Kizer has 6 total TDs as Notre Dame rolls at Pitt" -- Matt Fortuna headline on ESPN front page

Looks like not even ESPN is saying ND did not dominate.

This is funny because I remember ESPN's headline saying Irish Survive Late GT Surge and Hold On when the game was never in doubt late.

The job has to be wide open next year but Kizer has to have the advantage at least going in based on all the game experience he is getting.

Could be....did you hear him pouting at halftime about not being able to attend the game? Can't believe ESPN would not give him the day off if he wanted to be there. Especially since ABC had the game.

Spielman and others have been talking up our front seven. I would say our front 5 are good but their pressure without blitzing is average. Would like to see Morgan, Grace, Martini, Coney. Come on, a walk on and a converted WR!? Knock that sh@t off Kelly and BVG.

The front 7 is solid, but would be spectacular with better play at MLB and WDE.

The CFP committee is the tail that wags the dog. The media, especially ESPN, seems to fall in line with what the committee puts out. I haven't seen anyone really questioning our position at #5 other than Tim Cowlishaw but he is a butthurt Dallas area homer who thinks Baylor should be #1.

Your basis for defending Schmidt's play is relying on ND's own media coverage? Seriously? Everything about their job is designed to inflate the team and players and downplay their weaknesses.

My post game observation:

We are fucking good. Good as anyone in the country.

Anyone? This may be the most well rounded ND team in my adult life, but I still see a couple teams that are better. They're def deserving of a top five ranking tho IMO.
