Unselfishly, it's great to see Temple finally have some big success. What a season this has been for them.

Selfishly, I hope we annihilate them on national television.

And then The Owls close out SMU, USF, Memphis, and Diaco's Dudes for a 11-1 season and an AAC Championship.

Not to bad for a bunch of Penn State rejects.

Wow, that is an easy finish outside ND and Memphis. They seem like a lock for 10+ wins.

Cannot overstate how HUGE Temple winning the AAC would be for ND. Could theoretically have wins over two conference champs and a two-point road loss in a monsoon to a 3rd conf champ. Would be hard to deny Nd a spot in the CFBP at that point, IMO.

Having watched the first half and comparing or to Memphis against Old Miss, I doubt they win it. Haven't seen Houston but they seem exciting, Temple were anything but that.

Amateur viewpoint by me, but I see no "go to" receivers, which would make them one dimensional vs ND. I also saw ECU bulling their OLine --- and imagine a Day/Rochell feeding fest. They seem to need to get serious yards "outside" then, and there's that Jaylon guy. How many turnovers and punt blocks can they get off us to score much?

Defensively they're good, but Kelly will get rid of the ball quickly and their DBs don't look particularly adept to me --- especially safeties. Matakevich is a stud, but just stay away from him. Our bigs should still allow us to run.

I always am a little afraid of offenses with high potential QBs --- even Massachusetts had a good one. But I don't see it in these guys. Rather, it seems like this coach has gotten the best out of these people and they're running at their ceiling. We are going to have to be sleepwalking and making mistakes not to handle [even man-handle] this. ECU DRAMATICALLY outplayed these guys in the first half [except for ECUs usual undiscipline and penalties, translation: thugishness]. I "think" that we're a bit better than ECU --- at everything.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night. You guys are really getting my hopes up that ND dismantles a Top 20 team on prime time...

Don't bother getting your hopes up. It is a recipe for disaster! Instead sit back and enjoy, we have the chance to learn a few things :
  • Is ND developing the road warrior mentality?
  • Can ND get off to a fast start away?
  • Can ND just flat out dominate a lesser team (kick the dog while it is down postulate)?
  • Is that truly an affect; does ND have a harder time with a team with a dynamic quarterback, more so than with an overall better team with average skill players?
  • How rested did ND come out of the bye week?
  • Will ND be affected by the tough schedule so far, followed by a bye week?

I watched them last night and was not impressed. Temple had a big D but Prosise will have the holes he needs to use his speed advantage and no one will cover Fuller.

ECUs quarterback was honestly one of the most pathetic throwers ive ever seen. It looked like he was throwing a football that was too big for his hands. Temple should have routed this team.

With that said, the atmosphere was pitiful and the energy was low. Next week will be Temples super bowl.. A chance at a signature win and they will all play out of their skin.

The playbook will be wide open.. And this scares me a little bit. I can see a handful of trick plays being thrown at us. They might open the game with a plan but as soon as we impose our will they'll go rogue.

If we can smother then early, get the crowd out of it and stop giving up trick plays.. We'll beat the brakes off them.

If our D doesn't notice anything they saw on tape and Temple plays up.. We're in for a scare.

Temple looked terrible in this game. If East Carolina didn't have something like 150 yards in penalties on offense in the first half they probably would have pulled away early. Nothing the Owls did on either side of the ball was impressive.

Bogs, this is where I am at too. Teams circle our games on their calendar, and play with intensity at the start. We need to crush lesser teams at the start...then don't turn the ball over.

I don't think the crowd will be much of an issue. I would be surprised if the place isn't 50% ND fans.

16 Philadelphians and family/friends with tickets and heading for the game. Rooting for the good guys. The Philadelphia alumni club was selling tickets way before anyone here was thinking about Temple football. Started out with a limit of 10 and then dropped to 6 because of demand. My daughter and I were both lucky to get tickets for the game months ago. I agree there will be a big Irish showing in the stands.

Go Irish!

For real? Surprised they confirmed that before the weekend played out. I didn't see any tweets about it.

I had the same initial reaction. If it's true, then I would suppose the combo of Temple winning last night and ND with a bye was enough to get the ball rolling early for next week.
