As much as I would love for GameDay to be there, having tickets to the game. I think the "A" option for ESPN would be Stanford at Washington State because of the PAC 12 North implications if they both win this upcoming week. Temple not having an on campus football field would probably be a hurdle, and GameDay already being at one of our games hurts us. However, I am saying this with no inside info at all, just how I feel.

That's a good call. They've been trying to get to WSU for a game for a while now also. Could happen if they both win.

They're going to Richmond at James Madison this week.

That game is a 10:30 PM ET kickoff. I'd be completely shocked if they go somewhere where kickoff will be 13.5 hours after GameDay starts.

Pac 12 gamedays suck. West coast fans and a 6:00 AM start time are a bad mix for crowd enthusiasm.

That is a fair point. Although, from what I understand about Temple's location to Lincoln Financial they aren't exactly adjacent to each other. This could negatively affect attendance for a game scheduled 11 hours after College Game Day's opening broadcast. I have also seen on twitter that GameDay is already planning to be in Philly this year for the Army vs Navy game so that may be hurting are chances as well. First things first, lets hope Temple wins at sneaky good ECU this Thursday.

It'll be his 73rd game, so 33/73 is 45% of the games have been night games. Whoa.

Feels like virtually every road game (ie not on NBC and their standard 3:30 slot) has been a night game. Add in the times NBC puts them on at night for premier match ups and i don't think its a surprising number at all.

Hope not. Don't need another reason for Temple to play inspired against us.

But the Irish squad could probably use a little motivation to get excited about playing Temple. Temple's players will already be stoked to play Notre Dame at night on national television, I really think hyping this game up helps Notre Dame.

It's also a decent opportunity to smack them to the tune of 42-17 and start to earn some style points.

Yeah no kidding.

2010: 4/13
2011: 6/13
2012: 7/13
2013: 6/13
2014: 5/13
2015: 5/10

It's likely that Pittsburgh and Stanford are both night games, plus the bowl game; so 8/13 is possible.

Love watching the Irish at night, and like going to night games period. Got tix to this weekend's FSU@GT game. Bobby Dodd is an awesome venue for night games. ATL skyline is a nice backdrop. Saw the Stones there earlier this year.

Can't wait till the Irish visit GT and smack them around. Will be cheering for the Jackets though this week. Need that SoS to improve, and need to the undefeated to fall.

I don't mind the night games because it generally means that ND is good. ABC isn't putting the 2007 Irish team on at night to play Temple, I don't give a damn if Temple is undefeated or not.

I think we dismantle Temple with a 50+ spot on the board. This bye week is huge and allows us to reflect and heal a bit. I'm crazy in saying this, but I believe VanGorderstache will call a gem.

That rickety car will be clipping cheerleaders driving onto the field. They'll be so jacked up to play FSU. I hope for a UT over OU type situation with Paul "only ego bigger than Brian Kelly" Johnson circling the wagons. GT is desperate beyond desperate this week.

Nah, have you seen the driver. I think the cheerleaders will be safe. some others may not lol...

Yep, I think this is a game that could get interesting. I bought the tix a while back knowing ND had the week off. At the time it was a sexy pick,,, especially after last year. Now just hoping for a jacked up GT upset of the Criminoles. Gonna wear a GT jersey with my red ND signal caller cap.

The Linc in Philly only holds 65,000 but the game is sold out. Temple football is ranked in the top 25 and Penn State isn't. Times they are a changing.

It's probably mostly Notre Dame fans. When I was looking at tickets for this game at the start of the season, about 30% of the Irish side was already sold, while Temple's side was wide open.

Wonder if gameday does come if they will set up on campus at the bell tower, or in the Linc parking lot?? It would be more practicable from a logistics standpoint to go with the latter. Even fanbase/crowd standpoint it might be more convenient, I mean Temple has a large enrollment of almost 40,000 but less than half live on campuss or within walking distance. Its much easier to drive to the South Philly sports complex than it is to park anywhere near Temple (plus you much less likely to get your car windows smashed in for the most trivial thefts--- seriously leave an empty shoe box or some bs like that in your car overnight say goodbye to your window). Will be interesting to see.

I think you guys are right. Temple's record is nice, but they haven't really beaten anyone (which pains me to say, because I'm a UC fan). It's all smoke and mirrors to this point. Their best wins are against PSU, who is awful, and UC, who gifted them the game with 6 turnovers (only two of which Temple actually forced). They've struggled with or *handled* the other opponents on their schedule, who are all trash.

I watched them play in person. Their defensive front is disruptive, but only when their talented LB's blitz. A couple dump offs to CJ on a delayed release or a couple of quick hitters to Alize will solve that problem quickly.

Their QB is just absolutely awful as a passer. He throws a nice ball on deep corners and posts, but he can't throw a timing pass to save his life and his accuracy is questionable at best. He's a great athlete, but he didn't really show an understanding of when he should take off vs when he should stay in the pocket and just move around.

The biggest issue for ND may be trying to stop their speedster RB, especially if their QB has learned how to use his athleticism a bit better by then. They could hurt ND with the option and the screen game. But then I remember that we have Jaylon Smith, and I feel a bit better about ND vs Temple's biggest strength.

So basically: pick up the blitzers, don't get burned by the RB, don't turn the ball over, and you win by 35+.

Of course, all of this means that Temple's QB will probably put it all together for the ND game and ND will have to win in a dog-fight.

Lose on a last second fade route in the back of the endzone, when a FG wins it...
