Whenever I read an article after a recruit visits, the impression was he was here all day. Also, a lot of the kids that travel that far seem to stay the night or visit more than one school. If he came all this way just for a 2 hour visit with us and we aren't part of some Midwest tour, that is a good thing, IMO, that we are high on his list. Plus, posts in Caleb Kelly's thread stated he was trying to visit with Fuller. That sounds like they would be here for awhile, maybe hanging with current players, staying the night etc. Can't see kids traveling from opposite ends of the country to meet in the Midwest for a couple hours. So yeah, was looking for more.

He was on campus from the morning till early evening, I am not sure where you got the 2 hour thing. I would say thats a normal visit. As the other poster mentioned, the players are home and he probably stayed in Chi or South Bend on Weds night, so I am not sure there is a benefit of him staying the night in South Bend.

The Kelly and Fuller family are good friends, but each have their own schedule. Fuller was leaving Thursday so he could visit TCU regardless if Kelly was coming. And, maybe Notre Dame has one player well ahead of the other on their board, so they might be pushing for a multi-day unofficial for one and not the other.

I mean I could be wrong, but Fuller's visit was the typical unofficial visit. Not sure there is anything to get worked up over.

He got the two hour thing from you I think.

Most visits only last a couple hours.

Defensive back Jordan Fuller of Old Tappan (N.J.) No. Valley Reg., visited Notre Dame on Thursday. It was the four-star’s first time seeing Notre Dame.
Fuller and his father, Bart Fuller, arrived on campus mid-morning and received a tour of the locker rooms and football facilities. Following a tour of campus, they met with academic advisors.
“It’s a beautiful campus,” Bart said. “What sets it apart really was the stadium being right in the middle of campus and how you get a sense that academics are so important. It’s a unique combination, the highest level of academics and the highest level of football.”
The latter half of the day was spent with different members of the Notre Dame coaching staff. Defensive backs coach Todd Lyght left a significant impression on Fuller and his father.

“(Lyght) explained how Notre Dame would utilize him, as a free safety,” Bart said. “He has accomplished everything that Jordan would like to do in terms of his accolades. From what he did at Notre Dame, to having a successful career in the NFL and being recognized for his high quality of play and winning a Super Bowl. From a mentor’s standpoint, Jordan would love to learn from him.
“He talked to Jordan about coming in and playing right away due to who’s on the roster, who’s leaving and how many they plan on bringing in. Jordan has the physical tools to step in quickly. It’s not like he has to gain weight or get taller or faster.”
Defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder’s NFL background resonated strongly.
“VanGorder talked about some different things than what we heard from coach Lyght,” Bart said. “He has NFL experience and you don’t always find that. He talked about he can develop Jordan to better make that transition to the NFL after college.”
During a meeting in the head coach’s office, Brian Kelly explained what makes Fuller an ideal fit at Notre Dame.
“We spoke with him for about a half hour, 45 minutes,” Bart said. “He spoke about the culture and the type of kid that goes to Notre Dame. They’re very like-minded to Jordan, on and off the field. He said a lot of good stuff about where they see the program heading.”
Irish safety and New Jersey native Elijah Shumate spent time with Jordan and his father before they departed campus.
“We got to spend some time with Shumate,” Bart said. “Not all of the players were back on campus yet. We had the connection with Shumate with him from being New Jersey and him knowing my older son.”
Fuller has yet to narrow his list of schools, though his father believes a top 10 will be released before the start of his son’s senior year.
“I think in the end it will be about how comfortable he feels with the guys,” Bart said. “All of the schools recruiting him have a lot of similarities, so it will be about where he feels most comfortable even in football is not in the picture.”
Schools often linked with Fuller’s recruitment include Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, TCU and UCLA.
“He hasn’t decided on official visits, not yet anyways,” Fuller Sr. said. “We are traveling to TCU today, and that will be the last visit before the school year starts. I want him to have a little bit of time at home just to do nothing.”
Fuller is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 10 cornerback in the Class of 2016.

Thanks for the explanation TP. I actually got that from a few places. First gkIrish posted he was visiting the weekend of July 30th (I took it he will be here on the weekend not on a Thursday). Then #1rish posts he tweeted "on his way" at 11:23 yet it is a 10-12 hour drive. My assumption was he would get here late afternoon to early evening and stay the night and visit the next day (a weekend day) as well since he arrived so late (didn't know at the time he was also traveling to TCU). Finally, like NDdomer2 said, you stated "most visits only last a couple hours".

Glad to know he was here for more than a couple hours and the visit went well. Thanks for the updates.

Thinks it comes down to Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State. Picks PSU as his guess

In the ultimate sense of hindsight, don't you guys wish we would've signed up Devin Fuller instead of Gunner Kiel? lol

Who would've known he didn't have the chest?

I know this was a year ago, but in hindsight I wonder what would have happened if Kiel did end up going to LSU and we play them in the bowl last year? QB was obviously the biggest missing link on that team. I guess the same argument could be that we wouldn't have ended up playing LSU if their QB was better. It may have affected our depth chart differently too based on our own QB performance in that game and the final outcome.

LSU with a good quarterback would probably have been the best team in the country. Fortunately their QB's sucked ass.

Picked PSU for Damar Hamlin as well

Really, I think if he stays home he goes to Pitt. Are these coming from PSU writers or does it seem that Scout has a hard on for Franklin and Company?

I believe all 3 are from Brian Dohn, national analyst, giving his opinion of where the final destination will be.

Well, I sure hope he is wrong but that would be quite the haul for them. I wish I could say that they won't be very good this year, which they won't be, but there schedule is an automatic 9 wins with UM being the only thing keeping them from 10, seriously that is pretty Fing easy.

That is the most hope-draining, ball breaking post I have read in a long time. Say it ain't so.

Agreed!! Hoping OSU fills up magically before fuller decides and that pushes us to the top but I agree:

Hamlin = Pitt
pryt= OSU
Fuller= OSU
Paris=ND

James Franklin is a heck of a recruiter, but we took a commit of theirs last year.

I don't see how Pryts really influences PSU in Fuller's recruitment. Unless they really are short on scholarships, they are different types of players; Fuller is a FS, CB while Pryts is a SS.

Fuller’s most recent visit was to Notre Dame.

“They might get an official (visit) too,” Fuller said. “The visit was awesome. The education speaks for itself obviously. I know a few kids that go there. That’s a plus there. I know not a lot of schools can give you the balance of football and education. So they are really attractive to me.”

Fuller plans to announce his decision after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and after taking all of his official visits.

“I’m think about cutting my list down to maybe like ten or eight maybe later this week,” Fuller said. “So I might come out with that.”

Fuller said he currently has high interest in Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Rutgers and TCU.
