That IS a break. A free year of eligibility to learn a new position when he wasn't going to see the field at his old one.

he doesn't strike me as the sort of kid who will knuckle down once he knows he is not going to be used on saturdays though.

Maybe take the Onawlau route and be an outside guy. Safety seems like a good fit as well. Just wish this kid could get on the field for once. Not that hes proven to be anything special yet, the kid Just comes off as a playmaker.

He out of Kelly's doghouse now? If he runs like that I wouldn't mind him spelling CJ to keep him healthy. Looks like he stays a little low between the tackles, which is good, then goes track star once he's in the open field.

Before this thread gets polluted with negative nancies who want to complain about JB's lack of maturity and rip him for posting this vid, I would just like to say: When Justin Brent gets presented with a wide hole, he knows how to slay it.

I looks like he's truck-sticking guys during walk through or some kind of half-speed reps.

I'd really like to see him get some PT. The mismatches he'd create coming/motioning out of the backfield would be very difficult to defend.

I bet he'd be our most physical runner immediately, and he's not lacking strength either. I'm sure there's a good reason he's not going to play this year, but damn, with Folston going down it'd be great if he was playing.

I thought someone said he was red shirting? Was that ever verified?

That was the plan prior to Folston going down.

I should've looked closer the first time, he's the scout team RB in that clip. So, its not like he's getting reps with the Offense just yet.

Saw him live in practice in August and he had a long ways to go. He was behind both freshmen even back then.

Talented, yes, but he's just not a RB yet. I'd prefer a redshirt year, as long as no one else gets hurt and he's not tearing it up in practice to the point where not playing him is stupid. But in August, he wasn't there yet.

Isn't it amazing to watch the scout team hand the ball off where the back is at speed when he gets the ball. Looks so professional.

I am still amazed at some of these athletes.

How so?

Not concentrating on field issues? Been happening since time immemorial (The list is endless);

Getting any woman they want? Been happening since time immemorial (see Darwin);

Poking fun at their best girl, while she takes him seriously? (Obviously happening before Darwin, at least since Adam & Eve, if not earlier.)

Maybe the best cliché possible in this situation will happen; young stud faced with the responsibilities of parenthood decides to grow up.

I'd have gone Braxton Malik Brent but it's hard to argue with the fine Irish name they chose. Congratulations to the parents and their families!
