Alize keeps getting the deer in the headlights look when he gets on the field under the bright lights. Doesn't seem comfortable out there yet.

Schematically this makes things even more difficult for the offense. The specialty TE's behind Smythe will give away some of ND's play calls based off who is out there. If Jones is out there, he's out there to run routes and catch balls, he can't consistently block on designed run plays yet. Luatua hasn't shown much ability to make plays in the passing game and has been a glorified FB playing TE, he is in there to block which he does very well.

But he hasn't been getting the reps in any packages in the first two games. Now that might change going forward but who really knows. Seems like its TE by committee and giving away some of the surprise based on certain personnel groupings is something the offensive staff is willing to live with to keep Jones and Luatua out there the most doing what each does best.

Knee and shoulder surgeries for Durham per ISD

I'm assuming one occurred vs Virginia (knee) and shoulder was something he was dealing with until end of season so why not now?

Any mention of the specific surgeries?

I love ND, I got my grad cert at ND---but, there is always bad news lurking around the corner. Ever since 1988--bam, bad news just waiting for us. Heck, even in the National Championship we got crushed and lost 2 of our top players to major injuries.

Then the transfers keep coming:

Kiehl, Williams, Hill, Bo Wallace, Eddie Vanderdoes, Bryant, Golson, Lynch,

Major Injuries: Gray, KLM,Grace, Schmitt, Zaire, Jones, Smythe, Hunter Jr, Crawford, Folson, Barratti, Collingsworth, Tranquill, Bararajas?, councell, Harrell, Haereman, Lombard, Deeb

Academic Cheating/Grades issues: Daniels, Ishaq, Bryant, Hardy, Moore, Russell

Manti 2nd in the Heisman, then getting raked over the coals for the girlfriend issue. Even though 2 heisman winners are absolute bad people--Johnny and Winston. Unbelievable! We have the worst luck when it comes to injuries!!! WTF!!!??!! No other program has it this bad in terms of injuries to key players. Guess we'll be using all walk ons at years end. Just sucks and we're only two weeks in.
