Washington (CNN)Donald Trump has won his party's trust on top issues more than any other Republican presidential candidate, and now stands as the clear leader in the race for the GOP nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
The survey finds Trump with the support of 24% of Republican registered voters. His nearest competitor, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, stands 11 points behind at 13%. Just behind Bush, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has 9%, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker 8%, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul 6%, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former tech CEO Carly Fiorina and Ohio Gov. John Kasich all land at 5%, with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee rounding out the top 10 at 4%.

Just generally let me say that I would bet $1000 that Joe Biden runs for the Democrats.
Donald Trump has a new target for his criticism of the nation's immigration policies - Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg is one of the leading tech executives who has called for a more open immigration policy. Specifically, he wants to make more H-1B visas available to tech employers so they can hire foreign skilled workers.
Trump said he wants to require employers to pay H-1B workers much more money, which he said would discourage companies from hiring them and boost job prospects for Americans. He also wants to have tech jobs offered to unemployed Americans before they can be filled by workers with H-1B visas.
"This will improve the number of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program. Mark Zuckerberg's personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities," Trump wrote in his immigration plan. Rubio is also seeking the Republican nomination for president.
Zuckerberg started a public interest group called Fwd.us to push for immigration and lobbying reform along with Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. Neither Facebook (FB, Tech30) nor Fwd.us had an immediate comment on Trump's criticism of Zuckerberg.
Trump says that there are plenty of graduates with degrees in science, technology, engineering and math, known as STEM, to fill tech jobs. That means that employers don't need H-1B visas to fill jobs, and are using them instead to keep wages low.
Employers are supposed to pay a typical wage to anyone hired under a H-1B visa. But in reality, employees on these visas are typically paid 20 to 45% less than U.S. workers who they are are often replacing, said Ron Hira, a Howard University public policy professor who has studied the visa's pay scale.
"I don't think you should eliminate the H1-B program. The problem is it's being abused and it's a source of very cheap labor," said Hira.

That's a new one. If this race is anything like 2012, this candidate will probably make a run after someone else makes a gaffe.
Interesting article and video on CNN about the Black Lives Matter group locked out of a Clinton function when the Secret Service said there was no room. They got a meeting with Clington later and met with her without the press. BLM videoed the meeting and Clinton had a transcript made.
BLM accused Bill of being a racist. Hillary defended him. They then went after her for lobbying for Bill's bill and perpetuating the new Jim Crow laws. Read the tweets in the article.
The CNN anchor noted that BLM took over the Bernie Sanders presentation and he later hired one of the BLM to be on his staff. The CNN anchor asked if BLM intended to have Clinton hire someone from the group. The BLM spokesperson lit up and said, "Yes!"
Interesting tactic, although I believe it's called extortion. "Hire one of us or we'll interrupt your meetings".
The rest of the candidates are going to have a rough time until the get Secret Service Protection as well.

That's a fun one!
Jeb Bush faces many challenges in his bid to become the Republican presidential nominee: a position on immigration that's unpopular among many primary voters, a last name that evokes strong feelings and an insurgent Donald Trump who shows no sign of giving up his commanding lead in the polls.
But perhaps the biggest challenge for the former Florida governor is himself.

State Department officials have uncovered 17,855 emails sent between a former Hillary Clinton spokesman and reporters that the agency long claimed did not exist.
The trove was among more than 80,000 emails belonging to Philippe Reines, a Clinton aide, that were discovered on his State Department account, officials said in court filings Aug. 13.
In response to a Freedom of Information Act request filed by Gawker Media in 2013, the State Department said it had no responsive records. Gawker was seeking official correspondence between Reines and reporters from 33 news outlets.
But State officials responded Thursday with the news that they had inexplicably found 81,159 emails on Reines' ".gov" email account despite asserting two years ago that none existed. Twenty-two percent, or 17,855, of the emails were likely related to Gawker's request.
The poll also found 54 percent of Americans oppose “birthright citizenship” when children born to illegal immigrants automatically become United States citizens, which is now the case. Thirty-eight percent favor the current policy of automatic citizenship for these children. “Opposition has ranged from 51% to 65% in surveys since April 2006. Support has been in the 28% to 41% range in that same period,” Rasmussen reports.
Americans oppose birthright citizenship, not just Republicans.
New Poll: Americans Support More Aggressive Stand On Illegal Immigration
We (and Canada) are the only two developed nations that grant birthright citizenship. Progressives love to crow about how awesome Europe is when they want socialized medicine or state-mandated vacation time or free condoms. But not when it comes to protecting the safety and economic well-being of American citizens. Immigration policy is not meant to protect the immigrant, it's meant to protect the citizen.

You're wrong, and you obviously didn't read the scientific poll I linked. 54% of Americans oppose birthright citizenship (i.e. "anchor babies") compared to only 38% support. That's not a fringe issue. That's a mainstream, winning issue. The only people who like anchor babies are the big-money right (that loves cheap labor) and the big-government left (that relies on a dependent underclass to build their base). It might help the primary poll numbers of people like Trump but the party has absolutely no chance in a national general election with such a platform.
Europe does have better healthcare, vacation time, etc than America. America also has better policies than Europe on issues like immigration. Europe is very anti immigrant and their policies toward African migrants have cost thousands of lives. America is a nation of immigrants and our policies should reflect this. However, regardless of one's beliefs this hardline stance on immigration will doom the GOP. It might help the primary poll numbers of people like Trump but the party has absolutely no chance in a national general election with such a platform.

Quick question...do you really mean health CARE or do you mean COVERAGE/INSURANCE?
That wasn't a very good rebuttal. Probably because I dislike Bill Maher as much as I dislike Rush Limbaugh.
The Cadillac commercial is lame.
It doesn't matter what the majority of Americans think in regards to a presidential election, that is not how the Elecoral College works. The reason it is so damaging to the GOP is it cedes states where GOP was formerly competetive to the Dems.
Maher is a massive jerk. But I think he makes some good points sometimes. In this case, I agree with the fact that we're actually rather unhealthy because of our "work ethic." We don't take care of ourselves and are likely less productive because of it.
In that regard, I can agree. I believe our culture isn't the best for us, it's the best for the country and the upper crust.
Quite frankly, I think the majority of our industries should see reform. We should attempt to develop local economies and local businesses that fill the needs, attempt to keep the money local.

What I find interesting about the Clinton email scandal is that no one is going after Colin Powell since he used a personal email as well.
