Honestly, the fact that he has locked in another visit to ND shows, IMHO, that ND is where his heart actually is. However, Butch Jones has done a good negative recruiting about whether Sanford will be there and his dad being in UT's corner hasn't helped. Again, I feel like ND is where Hunter wants to go, but the outside negative influences are marking him reconsider.

Jones knows he's losing this battle, thus the conjecture about Sanford and who controls the offense. I'm confident the staff is or will be addressing those issues.

Great UT visit = no verbal
Great ND visit = could verbal = muy bueno for you Spanish speakers

IF Hunter can be taken at his word...he doesn't care about the depth chart as he is confident in his abilities

Yes. He committed to PSU because of the writing on the wall and to hold a spot in case HJ goes Irish. I'm sure the staff has discussed where they are with him in every scenario. His friend and teammate, offensive lineman Matt Bockhorst is in the same holding pattern and would commit tomorrow if offered.

Brownsburg (Ind.), led by class of 2017 five-star quarterback Hunter Johnson, will take on Avon (Ind.) at 8 pm on Sept. 11. The game will be played on ESPNU.

The matchup will contain two standout quarterbacks in Johnson, as well as four-star quarterback Brandon Peters, who is committed to Michigan. Also featured in this game is Brownsburg star running back Toks Akinribade, an Iowa commit.

Sorta odd that HJ lives in Avon (or has an Avon address) but will be playing against Avon High. I wonder if it's just a typical unincorporated county mailing address issue so common in Indiana? I wonder if it had anything to do with Peters being at Avon?

Pretty impressive that two adjoining small towns of 12,000 and 22,000 have 2 of the top QB's in America. Indy football has really exploded with the popularity of the Colts and the investment they've made into the sport in the metro area.

Last year they beat Utah state, Arkansas state, TN Chattanooga, 6-6 South Carolina, 5-7 Kentucky, 3-9 Vandy, and 7-5 Big 10 Iowa. They didn't beat anyone. They return a lot but I see them losing to OU, Bama, UGA, Ark, Missouri, and one of SCAR and UK.

coulda shoulda woulda... I know...but they should have beat UGA and FL, and played Bama closer than the final score. Good recruiting is going to catch up with UT over the next two years.
