How was he never a right fit?

He always seemed really unhappy at ND. I understand his father because this is ND and it is a 40 year decision but sometimes, some things in life just do not work. He thought he would be a star since the very first day and he can not handle the fact that he is not a star. He was suspended for smoking pot (allegedly) and then the entire year for academics. I wish him the best but ND is not made for him and Bryant is not made for ND.

If this is in fact he has made the decision to never return, it's shocking news. Some people close to the situation besides his father had no idea either.

"doesn't bode well for ND."

Kind of an overstatement.

From Keith Arnold:

Whatever the case, you couldn’t ask for a better on-field situation for Bryant. Enrolling at ASA allows him to play football, especially for a head coach who’ll likely be running an offensive system similar to the one the Irish utilized. But whether that means he—or Kelly—have closed the door on a potential return to Notre Dame is up for debate. Talking to various people around the program, it feels like a 50-50 proposition.

Wooly, you better make Jimmy redeam that lap before it comes true. He doesn't deserve to get off on a technicality.

Has nothing do to with with a child tells a parent or otherwise..... Or am I missing something?

I don't use italics.

BUT, I have a cousin who found out her kid changed colleges without advising her. She found out when she got a bill for the upcoming semester. She called the school that was cashing her checks and they referred her to FERPA.

I'd FERPA the hell out of that kid and then tell him to call DFCS

Gotcha, sorry,... And yes in your example here the school couldn't tell the parent jack squat.

He got to come home ... and pay room and board. His mom let him know he could could ride his bike or the bus. No car, no mom insurance. "You wanted independence. You've got it! You also get the responsibility and accountability that goes along with it!"

He quickly found being a bag boy or flipping hamburgers wasn't going to cover his needs. He got a job in construction but had to ride his bike to the yard. Talk about humiliation. After 6 months he enrolled in community college on his dime. His employer was impressed with the turn around and let him use an old company pickup to commute. Eventually he bought it.

He's done well since then and credits his mom for the tough love.

According to Pete.

After talking to Bryant Sr., I don't expect Greg back at Notre Dame.

If he did return, he would have to sit out the 2016 season, too.

No way he comes back to only be eligible for his 5th year, assuming he even gets approved for it.

Then again, if he were to transfer to any Div 1 school he'd have to sit out a season. Unless, he goes FCS route, where he can play immediately.

Isn't this the year he sits out? Kids go straight from JUCO to FBS ball all the time. #justnotatnotredame

Ahh, yes, sorry I made a mistake. Upon leaving ASA, he will have two years to play two seasons immediately at whichever school he chooses.

FCS route is probably best for him.
