Any idea of where these percentiles are coming from? Is it just from kids participating?

Yes, It says on the Boudreaux scorecard connor_in posted, "99TH PERCENTILE OF ALL NIKE FOOTBALL ATHLETES TESTED IN YOUR CLASS" (Nike put it in caps)

Look under the 112.62 score.

I mean, it says right on the thing that he's in the 99th percentile for both of the power events and even at about 300 pounds, he's in the 74th percentile for vertical jump and 87th percentile in their agility drill.

Lol.

Parker ran his Agility Test 0.10 slower (4.41 v 4.31) than WR Chase Claypool who is also 6'6" but weighs 75 pounds LESS! (according to NIKE's measurements listed on their scorecards)

The SPARQ test, developed by Nike, accounts for a player's weight (to normalize results), 40-yard dash time, 5-10-5 test, kneeling powerball toss, and vertical jump. SPARQ shows how quick athletes are for their size and speed, and it also measures explosiveness, power and agility. For reference, a score above 130 puts an athlete in an incredibly elite group:

Every year, Nike holds SPARQ Combines across America in various cities, inviting high school athletes to come out and "get tested". About 1,000-1,500 athletes visit these events per city, and the highest rated athletes attend a final combine in Beaverton, Oregon (deep in Nike territory). The highest SPARQ scores per year, after tens of thousands of athletes are measured, are in the 130 to 150 range. At some camps, only a handful of players score above 100.

For reference

From this morning before the workouts. Steve Lorenz, soothsayer?

Didn't really know how to structure an article here, so I'll just post some random thoughts on some Michigan targets heading into the Opening.
Bullish:

[...bunch of kids of which Michigan might get one or two...]

Bearish:
OL Parker Bordreaux (ND commit)
[...]

Steve Lorenz, hack.

Scout (VIDEO): Boudreaux ready to represent ND

Discusses his recruitment, the video to announce and targets

Just watched the vid. He comes across a lot better than I expected. Down to earth, has a sense of humor about the whole thing, and actually seems like just a genuinely nice kid. Add in the fact that he crushed his SPARQ score and I get more excited about his commitment every day.

Agreed, thanks for posting BigHead. Parker will represent the university well. I didn't realize that his ridiculous commitment video was Bleacher Report's idea. They should keep their ideas to themselves from here on out.

“Boudreaux was actually playing on the outside too,” Simmons said. “Saw him line up at left tackle and he’s just so strong and powerful. He had his ups and downs but I think he’s the type of guy, and he did have a solid day, and he’s the type of guy that’s only going to get better when the pads come on and he can assert his physicality.

I know some like Loy believe he's a legit 6'5 and even tweeted about it today putting those questions to rest. But Parker handed his score card to Ivins his height was stratched off. Here's what Driskell said, plus you can tell standing next to Kraemer that he has a couple inches on him.

One of those fake insiders was Andrew Ivins, who stood right next to him. I can say with high, high certainty that Parker Boudreaux is closer to 6-3 than he is 6-5. The card he turned in with his height had his height smeared off, it got wet or something, so it didn't show his height.

Not that anyone should care, 6'3" is plenty tall enough for a guard, and he's a guard prospect all day.

The kid just came away as one of the most physically ready lineman at the Opening, who cares if he is not truly 6' 5". He is a guard anyway.

The picture he tweeted said 6'5", Tommy's said 6'6". As with all measurables take with grain of salt. Jones had 5'11" on his.

I would say Parker is 4-5" taller than Jones and Tommy is ~2" taller than Parker. Seems accurate enough...

Question I've always wondered: How do they accurately measure the height of a black kid with a flat top haircut at events like this? Do they smush it down? Do they stick a comb in the top where his head is and measure from there?

I was told to always measure from the anus. Oh wait that's something else

Chalk up another one for the Minnetonka Kid!

Joh you got a link for that? Lorenzo blocked me on Twitter

GB, a chara,

I have complemented you on your amazing personal growth before, and I am sure I will do it again. (Please accept my compliment in the humblest of terms.)

This is a milestone that needs to be noted! Only an intelligent, mature, well-rounded, knowledgeable poster interested in an objective discussion would be banned by Steve Lorenz on Twitter! I am as proud of you as I am sure your parents and family must be!

What a day to celebrate how far you have come since those days in Paris!

Humbly, and admirably yours, as always!

Beir bua agus beannacht,

Bogtrotter, esq.
