SMH. Just wondering, did anything like this or worse happen in that 2012 off-season? Thanks.

Lynch transfer. Rees/Calabrese altercation with police. Cierre suspended for weed for 2 games.

Will miss seeing him back there just because I still think he can be very good but I think Dexter Willams could be better. Loved his film and hey we get to see a freshman back play! All we lost was some swag, more over hype and part of koons goons bod squad. I swear there are some ND fans think he will win a Heisman before he leaves here. Already feel like he's been here for five years

Even with this news, I doubt we will see a freshman back play.

Dammit GB. Guess it explains his non existence from social media at the end of last season.

Sucks for GB, but part of me thinks this could be a blessing in disguise with the RB rotation. Folston proved to be by far the best RB on the roster last season, and he only averaged 9 total touches per game the first 5 games of the season (then 18+ the rest of the season) BK has shown he struggles rotating skill players when we have too much depth, the 4-headed attack at RB in 2013 being probably the best example of that.

Predicting that carries will be hard to come by for GB once Prosise shows what he can do in September...

This is a loss, there is no way to argue against that. GB is going to still have a big year. He won't hit 1000 yards but he'll have some big plays for us.

Dexter Williams will be able to touch the ball for a couple games before being pulled to keep the redshirt preserved. This will be great for him to experience live action.

Folston and Prosise need to stay healthy because they are going to be a monster 1-2 punch from the backfield.

the silver lining in this is that the slot now opens up to see more Hunter Jr. which had been trying to fight through to get reps over the vets...also will give new looks at punt returners(cj sanders)...

Sampson pretty much said what I said. Not a major hit. 5-8 carries per game. Williams and procise will take those. Heathlier down the stretch.

I don't understand why Greg Bryant is getting a four game suspension for smoking pot. Unless this is second or third failed test. I mean Tommy Rees punches a cop and Floyd gets a DUI and doesn't miss a game.

It could very well be that it speaks to the character exhibited by the people in question. Maybe Rees and Floyd were committed guys, who never had little problems, and that mitigated the circumstances surrounding their "big one". And maybe Bryant has been a pain in the ass from day one, and this was just the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back?

There's another name too that could be suspended too and he fills a role similar to Bryant at a different position... not really needed right now, but if injuries pop up he could be a value piece.

Golson. Oh, wait..............

Bryant is easily replaceable. The others weren't. Plus I don't think BK likes him.

Disappointed in the setback, had hoped he had set sails to go forward. Not having him affects depth and ST play, but in the end it is now Next Man In.

Why do so many people think Greg Bryant is a problem? Inside the locker room and people think he's a troubled kid. Besides this what else has he done? If BK can deal with Cierre Wood I think he's been able take care of Bryant who up until today hasn't been problem. Plenty of ND players smoke, he's just dumb enough to get caught.

Floyd already had some incidents related to alcohol prior his DUI. That was not a character thing, he was a super star and that's why he did not miss a single game.

Cierre Wood and Justin Utupo were suspended two games and i think it was for pot.

He is not a major loss, in fact, i always thought that BK does not like him as a player. The guy played great against USC and then he only had two carries against LSU. He had 11 carries in the last 7 games. He is not in Kelly's plans, imo.
