i

Kelly with first pitch today.

His face wasn't purple so he clearly was mailing it in. Just like in DE and S recruiting.

I wasn't refering to him as special with disabilities. He is a very good ball player. I wish he was playing 3rd for the Braves.

Right. I wasn't accusing you of anything. I'm just saying that he's a special player already. In a few years he'll be filthy.

They will all bow at the feet of Lord Schwarber.

He finally met his match though in the Bigs. They kept him under a 1 OPS and .400 OBP. lol

His time at Iowa will be interesting. They want him to be a big league catcher and that takes time. Their problem is they can't keep him down forever and he's gonna get 700 PA's next year one way or the other, either as a catcher or an outfielder. Great problem to have.

Theo and Madden will win 2 WS's in the next 5 years.

Seriously?

I've lost programming for WGN on Direct TV.

Pisses me off.

WGN doesn't really carry any games anymore. It's mostly Comcast Sports Net (CSN). But, yes, he reached into the field of play and AG was camped under it. It was the right call.

Maybe that's the problem.

I have some WGN something or other, but I thought I must have not gotten the WGN that airs Cubs games.

Horseshit Comcast has rights.

Dan Patrick was burying that guy as a terrible dad all morning today... Haha...

Anyway, watching the game right now, good to see the seat construction is done, are the clubhouses and everything else a go too?? Is everything finished??

I think the clubhouses are a longer-term project. But most everything is done in the bleachers. Much better game experience, I guess.

I think the estimate for the entire project to be done was the start of the 2017 season originally.

Cubs v Cards on Sunday.

For the majority of my life, I usually don't get too crazy about regular season games against the lowly Cubs. As it usually has zero relevance in regards to the post season. Don't get me wrong, there aren't many things I love more than a Cubbie beat down, but if it didn't happen, it wouldn't bother me. As I knew my Cards would be playing in fall and the Cubs would be golfing.

This year I'm excited though. The Cubs have turned into a technically savvy team that poses real challenges. While the Cards are still the best team in baseball, this years matchup is packed with intrigue. I care whether the Cards win, as this is two good teams facing off.

Can't wait!

Enjoy your reign while you can. As sure as MZ will guide ND to 10+ win seasons for the next 3 years and the Hawks will continue to be the Red wings of the 10's... The Cubs will win 2-3 World Series between 2017 -2020.

Th Oracle has spoken. You'll see.

And Capt. Skamania.... I didn't say I'd like it. My existence as a Sox fan has zero to do with with the observed misery of my Cubs friends. I'm just reporting the future guys. It's how I get to sit around on a computer all day, I'm a real good guesser.

Next couple of weeks will be big for the Cubbies. 7 games against in the Cards in that stretch. My wife, son and I will be going to Wrigley July 7th for one of their games against St. Louis. Here's to hoping we at least win 4 of the 7!

Screw this year. Screw next year. It'll take Theo and Maddon till '17 to season the kids on the field and to buy the arms for the mound.

It's just a Maddon of time...

Since many of us have become enamored with Bishop Gorman: Saturday's starter for the Cubs will be Donn Roach who is a Gorman grad. I know there are rumors of celebrity, money, and the best opportunities; so I'll add some fact to this. I work with a guy who's son is a pitcher at Gorman, and League prospect - his pitching coach is a guy named Greg Maddux. Yes, the Hall of Famer, who's son pitched at Gorman last year.
Good luck to Donn on his first MLB start.

Didn't Joey Gallo of the Rangers play for BG too? Or was it Findley Prep?

Man. I'm a Cubs homer and even I think this is a stretch. I do see us getting to the WS soon but winning 2-3 in 5 years is going overboard.

True enough. But I think this team is starting to develop a swagger. Rizzo is one heck of a leader.
