After the way our last 2 seasons have gone (especially the end of last year) it's hard for recruits to get too excited. Momentum is not on our side. Additionally, the local teams are on the rise, defending champion OSU, on the rise MSU, a UM that is going through a massive re-branding with great personnel (doesn't mean they will be successful, but it builds a lot of hype for 1-3 years), while nothing major has changed at ND for recruiting purposes. Since making the 2012 championship game we have: been blown out on national tv, had one of the all-time great players of ND dragged through the mud (Teo), had top recruits leave/transfer, had our top qb suspended, a disappointing 2013 season, a bunch of players suspended for academics in '14, a disappointing 2014 season, a bad year at the draft, and add to all of this that with ND's partial commitment to the ACC that it seems nearly impossible for ND to play for a national championship or a big bowl game. But all of this will be a wash if the boys can start and finish strong this year. The schedule isn't easy, but it's not impossible. If ND goes at least 10-2 in the regular season and win a bowl game then I think 2017 will be an incredible recruiting year and we will get a few big names for 2016 as well. We're experiencing a slow-down, while others around us are going through a change. We just have to show that we can play and get players drafted (and we will: Stanley, Day, KVR, Fuller, Jaylon, Schmidt, and hopefully a few others will be high draft picks)
