Great to have kids like this onboard. Bet his dad is awfully proud!
"Notre Dame fans NEED to read this stuff they have to give me money to read."
OK, guy.
Congrats to Julian and welcome aboard!
He's a very good athlete that has great speed. He has great lateral agility and has the ability to stick his foot in the ground and explode to the football. He also tackles really well and is more physical than most players his size.
I don't know if he can be a press corner. (The only example of him playing press that I could find is this one clip from a Core 6 showcase from over a year ago). That question will need to be answered. If it happens that he can't at the level Notre Dame wants him to, the great thing about Love is that he can play other positions.
He may end up as a nickel covering slot receivers. With Notre Dame potentially short on safety depth, he may just end up at safety. His versatility is his greatest strength and is also a huge asset for the coaches at Notre Dame. Wherever he ends up at, I think he will have a chance to develop into a very good player in the Irish secondary.
EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — La Grange Park (Ill.) Nazareth Academy three-star cornerback Julian Love discusses the latest in his recruitment and where things stand with his commitment to Notre Dame.
Love talks about which schools have been pushing hard since he first pledged to Notre Dame, including the likes of Ohio State and Penn State.
The 5-11, 175-pounder also talks about taking a lead role on the recruiting trail and which targets he is trying to bring to Notre Dame, including his good friend five-star 2017 quarterback Hunter Johnson.
Love also touches on his conversations with defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder and where the staff believes he will fit in from day one in South Bend.
Sounds like one of his greatest strengths might be his relationship with Hunter Johnson... not sure if italics are warranted or not?
Toma was a great example of someone who got a bad rap like this and then proved to everyone he more than deserved his ND opportunity. I can only imagine comments like this help motivate these guys to blaze their own trail.
Performance: Love spent some time on both sides of the ball for the Chicago-based Boom squad and probably could have landed on either the offensive or defensive top performers. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect will probably play defensive back in college and he showed a nice ability to cover. His ball skills were also impressive on both sides of the ball and he played a major part in his team's undefeated day on Saturday.
Performance: Love was probably the best offensive player for the Chicago-area Boom squad that made a surprising run through the tournament but he also had plenty of success on the defensive side of the ball. The versatile athlete is just a playmaker, no matter which side of the ball he was on and his quick feet and terrific hands make him both a threat to score every time he touches the ball on offense or a threat to make an interception every time a pass comes his way on defense.

- Julian Love WR/DB La Grange Park (IL.) Nazareth Academy: Love starred on both sides of the ball throughout the weekend. He was active on defense and a threat to score from anywhere on the field on offense.
