My roommate went to high school with Rashan and played football with him for two years (at Scotch Plains not Paramus). He knows him personally and describes him as a "Notre Dame type of kid" because of his personality and the type of person he is. However, he did tell me at the beginning of football season that he was hearing that he wanted to stay closer to home (he mentioned Rutgers and Penn State), but after winter break he says he heard that Rashan is more open to leaving the North East. In his opinion, he thinks Rashan goes to Alabama or Michigan. It's still a long way to go before signing day, so if we can get him on campus I think we have a small shot.

From what I've read I agree with all of this. I'll also throw in OSU because it sounds like Urban is going to go all in on Rashan. Summer visit is extremely important to stay in this.

Wasn't all that confident in landing this kid, but with Gilmore on the trail, that DRASTICALLY increases our chances. Not visiting though? Not good, needs to get on campus ASAP. These guys need to be on campus in a OV setting like Junior Day.

Simply put, can't keep missing out on these elite DT's, especially ones from prominent ND areas.

I have a feeling Michigan is only a serious player here because of Peppers. Peppers played a big part in convincing Gary to transfer from his old HS (Scotch Plains) to Paramus Catholic.

And that the Head Coach of Paramus Catholic just joined Michigan as Director of Recruiting Operations...

Scout: Mom said her and a couple parents are looking to take their sons on a road trip this summer visiting schools, ND included. She likes ND. No dates yet.

Hoping to visit ND the week after his school is out for summer.

Hopefully he'll get a chance to visit. We need him too in order to have even a slight chance IMO. Would love him too and for him to fall in love with ND and get what we all get and understand. Never say never I guess and anything is possible. Stranger things have happened.

Irish247 has been able to confirm that Gary has set plans to be in South Bend this summer for a visit. The Fighting Irish coaching staff, tight ends coach Scott Booker and potentially defensive line coach Keith Gilmore as well, went by Paramus Catholic last week. Following that trip, the plan was set for Gary to get on campus this summer, likely in July.

Gary will not be on campus for the Irish Invasion on June 19, since he is still in school. However, the visit to Notre Dame will occur shortly after that.

Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Gary is the No. 1 overall player in the country, No. 1 defensive tackle in the land and No. 1 recruit in New Jersey from the class of 2016.

Not sure how close Gary and Wimbush are but I love seeing him reach out like that. I do know that Wimbush is having a positive impact on Fuller's recruitment.

unfortunate thing regarding that though, is when fuller was pressed to say who is recruiting him the hardest ND wasn't in the list of 3 or 4 teams :(

I saw that, its really frustrating when an A level player at a major position of need isn't getting enough attention. The good news is I believe he's planning on dragging out the process a bit so we can make a move still.

I like the thought of him and Tillery side by side on our DLine.

Ivins says Georgia and Clemson seem to be standing out. Damn Georgia can recruit DT's. I think it's hilarious Bill Kurelic has an update almost daily on Gary to the point where he has a major man crush and then Michigan fans think he's a lock and both might not even be his top 2

I guess traveling to South Bend is too far out of the way.
