Good thing Coach Bowden never did anything to embarrass the university.

That wasn't the full quote in context but even still Bowden has no room to talk as he perpetuated a university of criminals

Just sharing a little anecdotal situation, but I work with an FSU alum who was in school during the 93 title decision debacle... He's a hard core FSU fan and lives and dies as many of us do with ND...

two things,... first, he completely feels for ND 93 and states openly we won the natty head to head and got robbed, but admits openly most FSU fans/alum disagree...

second,... long before last season even started he talked often about how he and most FSU alums he stays in contact with were absolutely embarrassed by Winston and how the school handled everything. He even went so far as to state that he wished FSU would just sit him before last season started and he was openly relieved when they lost to Oregon and the Winston era ended... I got the feeling it was hard for him to root for his alma mater during the whole saga.

And Bowden was the first chief appologist for the embarassment when there were still games to play last fall!

I literally just saw this tweet. So i would assume that Bowden must really dislike Jimbo aswell... Or is Bowden just aware of how much an ass wagon Jimbo is?

I think part of him is salty for being pushed out before he was ready to step down, even though he had endorsed naming Jimbo as his successor.

I'm pretty sure they did not like each other. I don't remember specifics, but I believe Jimbo was behind Bobby being shown the door.

Many of my friends are FSU fans. They nearly all feel exactly the same way. None of them were rooting for a loss, but they were really holding their nose in order to root for their alma mater.

Jameis Winston/FSU lawsuits

Jameis Winston/FSU lawsuits

Update on legal proceedings. Erica Kinsman is the plaintiff/alleged rape victim against both Winston and FSU. Winston filed a counter lawsuit.

Erica Kinsman moves to dismiss Jameis Winston's lawsuit

"If Kinsman's lawsuit against the FSU Board of Trustees is any indication, these proceedings could drag on for years. The Kinsman/FSU suit had a status hearing on May 2, 2015 where an early trial date was set for the week of August 15, 2016, and that's provided the discovery process runs smoothly and doesn't result in any delays.

The scheduling order was revised on May 27, 2015 and the trial period was moved up a month to July 18, 2016.

There's also still the issue of FSU's pending motion to dismiss, which was made in early March and still hasn't been ruled on.

Mods can consolidate, though other Winston threads did not seem appropriate.

No objections. I did not think to look in Leprechaun Lounge, just in "Other College Football".

The above is just an update article anyway, though discussion/comments may expand it to the difficulty of a (alleged) rape victim pursuing legal action once she has been through the police, the Florida state attorney general and the FSU conduct hearings.

idc either way..just picking on ya in a joking manner

I hope Winston flops. I don't often cheer actively for a player to bust, but I make an exception for Winston. I hope he Jamarcus Russell's it.

I hate hoping for a bust for anyone, but I can here. Hope Mariota outplays him for years to come.

Love seeing Mariota do well, he seems like a good kid... I hope Tampa turns it around too, I really like Lovie Smith a lot.

I am not a Winston fan by any stretch of the imagination but you have to give the guy credit. Five TD passes this weekend ties record for a rookie and TB is 5-5. Got to also give Lovie credit. I know it is early but right now this pick is looking pretty good.

Out of Balance

Colleges lose series of rulings in suits brought by male students accused of sex assault. In stinging decisions, judges fault lack of due process.

Last week, the California Court of Appeals ruled against the University of Southern California in a lawsuit brought by a student suspended for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman during group sex.
The encounter had started as consensual, the woman told the university, but soon became violent. The accused student violated Southern California's sexual misconduct policy, the university argued, not by harming the woman himself, but by failing to stop the other men from slapping her and for later leaving her alone with them.
The accused student, according to the court’s decision, was not "provided any information about the factual basis of the charges against him," was not able to examine the evidence supporting the victim's statements and was not allowed to appear before the panel deciding his case.
The case joins three other legal wins for accused students in the past two months, and at least 10 in the last year. Some legal experts, including the federal and state judges deciding the cases, say the flurry of recent successes for disciplined students may show how some colleges and universities are eliminating “basic procedural protections” in an attempt to combat campus sexual assault.
“In over 20 years of reviewing higher education law cases, I’ve never seen such a string of legal setbacks for universities, both public and private, in student conduct cases.” Gary Pavela, editor of the the Association of Student Conduct Administration's Law and Policy's Report and former president of the International Center for Academic Integrity, said. “Something is going seriously wrong. These precedents are unprecedented.”

“No court has expressly held something that’s required by the Department of Education and its Dear Colleague letters as violating due process,” Buzuvis said. “What these cases show is that in some cases, colleges are going beyond what Title IX requires and in ways that are infringing on the rights of disciplined students. The line is being established as to what kinds of protections students can expect and rely on, and going forward universities should do a better job of making sure their responses take both Title IX and procedural fairness into account. There’s no reason yet to believe the two can’t coexist.”

I know many on here don't like "political correctness"; but this guy is out of control, and I would through a fit if he ever spoke to my kid (girl or boy) in these terms.

Speaking to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Florida:
“All my boys stand up, all my ladies you can sit down,” Winston said.
"But all my boys, stand up. We strong, right? We strong! We strong, right? All my boys, tell me one time: I can do anything I put my mind to. A lot of boys aren’t supposed to be soft-spoken. You know what I’m saying? One day y’all are going to have a very deep voice like this (in deep voice). One day, you’ll have a very, very deep voice.

...But the ladies ― they’re supposed to be silent, polite, gentle. My men, my men supposed to be strong. I want y’all to tell me what the third rule of life is: I can do anything I put my mind to. Scream it!"

The voice of an alleged rapist and his mindset.
