Has anyone seen it yet? I'm on my way in to Manhattan with my wife for brunch and a showing. Apparently it's a product of the South Park brothers and is as raunchy and offensive as they come. I'm sure we'll love it.

My very conservative and religious brother-in-law walked out at the intermission. He found it offensive. My sister and aunt stayed even though they were offended. They new what they were getting but still saw it. They said it was very funny but you can't take it too seriously.

I've seen lots of clips from it, but not the entire show. From what I understand, and from what my friends tell me, it's a really really good show. But, c'mon, it's the South Park guys. Of course it's going to offend some people. Just like Avenue Q or Kinky Boots.

I'd go.

My understanding is a lot of the Mormon church just laughed at it and moved on,... Credit to them for having a sense of humor and staying above it...

I find it very hard to enjoy theater that tries to be humorous, so was skeptical. Then I went w my wife, and I thought it was hilarious. First 10 minutes or so was kind of corny, in my mind. But then it gets really good when they get to the Africa scenes.

Never understood how they lost that book. Of all books, you'd think someone could keep up with that one.

It was absolutely hysterical if you don't take religious humor personally. We were dying of laughter in the theatre.

Wow! No jihad, no fatwa, not even burning South Park in retaliation.

It was really good, but not harsh enough to Mormons in my opinion. I was a little disappointed that they pulled punches and gave them a much more flattering portrayal than I was expecting. Don't go expecting a takedown of the basic stupidity of the core Mormon beliefs on par with what you got in South Park.

This.

I enjoyed it, but it has much less to do with Mormonism than I would have liked. It was basically South Park shenanigans with Mormonism sprinkled on. I wanted to see them rip the religion to shreds, and they certainly didn't. Still, it was very funny.

I also think there were a handful of jokes that people in the audience just didn't get, eg the General's name and the Starbucks cups dancing in Mormon Hell.

I saw it a couple years ago. While it's probably shocking and hysterical to those who aren't big SP fans, I was disappointed. I'd say don't go into it expecting South Park quality. The language and mocking of religion is South Park-ish, but it's much more light-hearted and shallow.

To their credit, they were smart enough to keep the humor and jokes appealing to a larger audience. It's lacking the darkness, obscure references and depth of humor you'd get in SP. Again, it's not something they can cultivate in a 2-hour show.

The South Park guys think the religion is silly, but they've always been pretty clear that they like most LDS members. There are lots of shots at the belief system in the chunks I've watched. The tune "I believe" is the perfect juxtaposition of those two sides. The kid is nice, brave, and totally naive/stupid in what he believes.

Absolutely loved it. It wasn't even as offensive as I expected but a great show by a great cast... We laughed nearly the entire time.
