Make your goddamn free throws! Away from that, a win on the road, next.

We got absolutely destroyed on the boards tonight. Auguste had a rly off game. We also had an off night shooting. Like irishfan said Clemson was looking for a big win at home to get into the tourney. They played their best and we didn't and to come out with a win on the road then I will not complain.

I can tell some people are new to college basketball. In the ACC any damn win on the road is a good win. These are tough places to play and we played a good defensive team. Enjoy the ride of the season, you don't get ones like this all the time.

People angsty over a conference road win when we're 22-4 and were only favored by 3.5 is a good sign. Shows expectations for the team are high.

Preseason I would've been very content with 18-8 at this juncture.

Yea some of you all need to calm down. Duke squeaked it out last night against an FSU team we beat by 20 earlier this year, got blown out at home by a Miami team we beat, and lost by double digits to a NC State we beat on the road, and people want to complain about winning at a bubble team to move to 10-3 in conference play and 22-4 overall? If y'all were Kentucky fans you would say that they were sure to get knocked out early after barely winning on the road against LSU in the same fashion we won at Clemson-- if not worse

Not to mention the fact that we probably spent more time in a plane then we did practicing for Clemson; between flying home from duke and then flying back for Clemson, I can only imagine how tired this team is. Now this team enters a stretch of being able to rest and get great practice time to clean things up for tourney time

I didn't watch the game tonight, but how has no one picked this post apart yet?

Seriously. I don't even want to think of where we would be without him this season. All the pressure he adds defensively is MASSIVE and doesn't show up in the box score. Not to mention the fact he is averaging 12.8 a game as a true Soph.

People are more concerned about this loss because time after time Brey teams have failed to show up away from Joyce in February and March. Even though this wasn't a bad performance, it was alright, it's still concerning to see the same stuff happen again.

This team looks completely gassed. The week off is much needed. What I will be personally looking for against WF next week:

1 - Can ZA play in a half court game? He has been up and down throughout the year, but the last few games for him have been brutal. He seems to struggle in the half court sets and isn't overly aggressive in the post once he is fed. They need a scoring presence in the post to relieve pressure on the perimeter. If ZA can't do, he needs to sit in favor of BC.

2 - Rebounding - At some point in the game yesterday, each player was caught being lazy on the boards. Rebounding is all about effort and want and this team is not putting their ass on man and going after misses aggressively (PC aside). This team thrives in the transition game, but there is no transition if you don't rebound. Part of the struggles on offense is due to rebounding on D.

3 - Risk taking - DJ and JG take way too many risks on D. This get's them out of position and leaves too many open lanes / pull up opportunities. This also contributes to the rebounding problem as often the team is scrambling to defend which gets them out of position for rebounding.

4 - DJ needs to be more aggressive with the ball. We don't need him to score 20 a night, but his aggressiveness is needed to get SV and PC open looks. His aggressiveness is streaky right now......we need it for 40 minutes.

WE WERE INDEPENDENT UNTIL THE MID 90s! What a stupid statistic. So we couldn't win over half our Big East games against Allen Iverson and Ray Allen with John MacLeod coaching a bunch of undersized white guys and Matt Doherty skipping town after going 8-8 in conference with a bunch of frosh and sophs (shocker, MacLeod left the cupboard bare).

He has all the tools. Completely fearless going to the paint too, how often does he score AND rebound on people literally a foot taller than him down low. Athleticism is off the charts and can take over the game at times. When more is put on his shoulders, he will rise to the occasion.

I was frustrated with Pat C camping behind the arc, don't remember him trying to take hardly anyone off the dribble. Very one dimensional last night. Auguste is a shell of himself, when you are 6'10" with the ball under the hoop GO TO THE RIM WITH AUTHORITY!!!! God almighty that was frustrating to watch. Kid needs to get aggressive. Brey rightfully benched him for playing with no balls.

I'll take the win, but the passive offense falling back on three pointers has got to go.

I was surprised Doherty didn't have a winning season though....

Wasn't a losing season either! Jimmy Dillon was your senior leadership for crying out loud! Martin Ingelsby was a Junior. Other than that you were leaning (almost completely) on sophomore Troy Murphy, good guy to lean on but only a second year player. Top three scorers were Murphy at 22ppg, sophomore David Graves at 13ppg and freshman Matt Carroll at just under 10ppg. Good nucleus to build on but damn if they weren't young. Beyond that starting five you are leaning on Jere Macura and Harold Swanagan (frosh and soph respectively).

22-15 overall with losing in the NIT final to Wake Forest. Yeah, we were feeling good about the direction of the program and Doherty looked like he had raised the dead. Opened a nice door for him that he jumped on the better opportunity.

Brey walking into a team with two years of Troy Murphy, David Grimes and Matt Carroll wasn't exactly taking on the same project Doherty had just one year earlier.

They're in Kentucky's part of the bracket and they will be playing LSU or Georgetown? I hope this isn't how it shakes out in March

Anyone see the interview Jordan Cornette did with himself? Kinda funny but anyways he said that this team is better then the team he was on in 2003 when the irish lost in the sweet sixteen. Said we are more athletic and more offensively efficient. Predicts us to go furthur then that team. Just if anyone was interested in his opinon

I don't think LSU will trouble anyone in the tournament but I think Georgetown is a sleeper FF team. They're tough.
