Yup. Or Butler. As long as you're moving at lest one guy you're probably fine. And Farrar has no ability to be a "rangy" type of FS which is what's the depth hole on the roster.
It's just sad because Edwards was a versatile and talented prospect we really should've landed. Cooks not getting it done makes a lot more sense now though.
Against Wisconsin, yes. There's also the fact that he does have a pre-existing relationship dating back to his sophomore season when he camped with ND. He also caught a game on campus back in October of 2012 as an unofficial visitor.
The problem for me is that CB isn't a position oozing of excess talent. Looking at next year, you will have the following without any position changes:
KVR, Cole Luke, Butler and Watkins. That's it.
At safety you will have Max, Shumate, Drue & most likely Farley.
Incoming recruits you have Coleman, Crawford & White at DB and Williams and Fertitta at S.
If you move Butler, you will have six CB's on the roster. There is a very real chance that both KVR and Luke would not be on the 2016 roster, which would mean that you would enter 2016 with a RS Soph (with most likely little to no starting experience) as your lead corner with either Crawford, Coleman or White as your other starter. One of the three better be on the same level as KVR & avoid the injury bug for that not to come back and really bite hard. At S, you would have Max and someone else in 2016, most likely Drue.
This wouldn't be that big of deal if we could ensure a healthy backfield along with a very good pass rush. Injuries are fluky, but there is nothing in the cards at this point that makes the pass rush look like a good bet.

So we again fail to start a season with 85 scholarship players because we can't fill a class. White to safety makes since - although I never saw him making an impact at corner. Not sure I see more upside at safety.
Wiltfong changed his CB to cloudy so this might not be over yet.
I still don't see why we would move Corey, who is reportedly closer to seeing the field than other WR, to a different position. There has to be another WR that is further behind at WR that would make more sense in switching to D.
Hopefully we dont have to do any position switching as far as O > D or D > O.

Did not meet with Kelly. But he came into the trip knowing he wouldn't meet with Kelly, because Kelly had a contractual obligation with NBC (as part of being the head coach of Notre Dame) to be at the Super Bowl doing stuff that weekend.
Says the disappointing thing was not getting enough time with coaches. Wanted to hear more about scheme and his fit. Makes some sense considering Cooks jumping ship, but disappointing that BVG or someone couldn't step in here.
I'd bet he picks Wisconsin, but this could go either way.
I agree that there could be a wide receiver other than Corey Holmes that could move to safety. But even though he is closer to seeing the field than someone like Justin Brent, is he really that close? This team has so many talented receivers that they don't know what to do with some of them. I'm starting to like the idea of moving Holmes to safety and I see the depth chart looking like this...
FS: Redfield, Collinsworth, Holmes
SS: Shumate, Tranquill, Farley, Williams (?)
He getting a sixth year or something?
I'm just sharpening mine for next year...But what am I supposed to do with these pitchforks?
How the hell did we not know Kelly is contractually obligated to be at the Super Bowl?
We know plenty of things that aren't our business. Considering our insatiable appetite for all things ND, I'm surprised that little nugget of information never made it to us before today.Because its none of our business.

Thanks for posting. Since we don't know the specifics, I think BK's hands were tied. Part of me wonders why he doesn't keep an open calendar for the last weekend before signing day, but again; I don't know the specifics that went into this. The fact is that the other coaches were there incl the DC so to hear Farrar left wanting more time w/ the coaches is disconcerting. Still, I'd like to know the reason(s) why.
