I can't remember a recent Duke team looking this impressive

Damn people, they just won the tournament, what? 4 years ago?

It's a bit surprising that they look this impressive after just a few weeks ago claiming they were on a downward spiral.

Watching Duke tonight for the first time this season, they look unbelievable. Can't wait for those matchups.

That team was not very good.

Also the same Duke team that got embarrassed by Miami's athletic guards at home. That lineup is very very good though, it should be a fun game and hopefully just as good at Cameron.

Downward spiral? Huh? Were those my words?

Also, what recent Duke team had this many elite athletes on the floor?

This is the best team I have seen since Digger's final 4 squad. Scoring balance is unbelievable. If someone is cold, there are plenty of other guys to pick up the slack. The only negative is the shortcomings in rebounding. That, however, is offset by being more athletic on the defensive side.

I wouldn't put them in that same class, but this looks to be Brey's best team yet.

1/22: at Virginia Tech 8-8 (0-3)
1/25: at North Carolina State 13-6 (3-1)
1/28: vs #4 Duke 15-2 (3-2)
1/31: at Pittsburgh 13-5 (3-2)

I would be very happy to see them finish January going 3-1. The games at North Carolina State and at Pittsburgh are going to be huge hurdles regardless of Duke.

From there it lightens up, at least for being the ACC. Would finishing ACC play with three losses (hypothetically of course) be enough to tie for the ACC regular season championship?

2/04: vs Boston College 8-8 (0-4)
2/07: at #4 Duke 15-2 (3-2)
2/10: at Clemson 10-7 (2-3)
2/17: vs Wake Forest 9-9 (1-4)
2/21: at Boston College 8-8 (0-3)
2/24: vs Syracuse 13-5 (4-1)
3/04: at #6 Louisville 15-3 (3-2)
3/07: vs Clemson 10-7 (2-3)

Realistically, I think we go 9-3 to end the season. Ending the regular season 26-5 (14-4), and anywhere from a 2-4 seed. Our numbers right now are solid. We're at #8/9 in the AP/Coaches Polls. We're at #39 in the RPI (should be around ~20 to end the season), and we're at #11 in BPI and #18 in KenPom. I know the committee supposedly looks at RPI the most for computer ranks, but I refuse to believe that they ignore other ones.

Our SOS right now is 169. Not great. Would love to get it in Top 100 to end the season. Our road/neutral game record is very strong, which is huge and makes up for the weak SOS.

Haha i was just about to write something just like this. Schedule is definatly favorable, I think we can beat duke at home. At duke is gonna be hard. We play lousiville really well every year so thats a toss up game but their home so id give it to them. I think we finish 27-4 personally. And then gotta go into ACC tourney play.

Ya, I'm chalking up Duke/Louisville on the road as losses. I do think we beat Duke at home also (Brey gets a big home win every year), but I see us going 2-1 against NC State, Pitt, Cuse.

I hope you're right with 27-4 haha, but I wouldn't mind 26-5. Just nice to have them relevant again.

I don't care what seed we are as long as it's not a 4 or 5* in Kentucky's region.

*or an 8 or 9

I agree. I just hope when/if we get seeded high then we dont blow the second round or even the third round. This team is mature enough to advance far in the tourney. Shooting well from the 3 will definatly be a priority. If our shots dont fall in the tourny then we are out probably third round

We have been pinched so many years with needing to get through a #1 or #2 to get to the Sweet Sixteen, just take that off the table and earn a damn 3 for a change.

Just picked up tickets to the NC State game on Sunday. Pretty pumped to take the whole family decked in ND gear. Suite with 18 ND fans should be rocking. I'll have the kids waving my GO ND placards that might have once belonged to the cheerleaders many moons ago. Really shouldn't hide stuff like that between pads in the JACC....

Club set up a meet and greet with the team after the game, kids should love that (me too).

agree 100%.

For me, it isn't about the seed, it's about the match-up. ND really needs to avoid three things to get to the second weekend:

1 - Suspensions and injury
2 - Any team with a dominating inside game
3 - Any team with two lockdown perimeter defenders

It's going to take an epic collapse not to make the tournament at this point so I don't think it's unreasonable to wonder where we could end up.

This team definitely has the athleticism to make it to the Sweet 16. However, with the poor rebounding and Brey, I doubt we make it past the second round.

I expect us to be matched up against a strong interior team first and/or second round. Committee likes to set us up for failure.

We can lose to just about anyone if we get cold from the field. I do think Auguste riding pine will pay dividends when he gets a couple cheap fouls early in a tourney game and has to sit most of the game.

Very good read. Best part is grant is our best player but when hes off he just has to dish to anyone else on the floor and has confidence in them that their gonna score.

I don't remember enjoying ND hoops this much in my lifetime (I'm 26). These guys have what it takes to win it all. Commitment on the defensive end, and the ability to score from every position mixed with veteran leadership... Needless to say, I'm pretty pumped about watching this team in March.

Too bad he's "too weak to play big-boy basketball" LOL.

Great first half. Could have a bigger lead right now, but I'll always take a double digit halftime lead in a league game on the road. We were lights out from 3 pt range in the first half. Grant looks to be having another good game. My regional Fox Sports channel is supposed to be having an interview with Grant during the half, look forward to hearing from him.

I liked the stat that Note dmae is one of only two teams in the country that have 5 players with 25 or more 3-point field goals

Shit, is Brey back to the 6-7 man rotation? Wonderful. And did Burgett get injured? If not, why are he and Torres not getting any minutes?

Beachem is 0-7 from three tonight. Better to be cold tonight than against NCSU/Duke I guess.

The box score shows ten players getting minutes. They have 7 points between them right now.
