Fuck yes!!! Welcome aboard, Alize'e!!!

Was just about to see what the odds are of his 1st career catch being against UT. I'd say better than not.

I think the odds of him playing against UT are very good. Starting out as the #1 TE on snap 1, I think might be a little difficult. I see him being used a little more than we used Fuller and CRob last year. There will still be a lot to learn and mistakes will be made. If the objective is to win every game we probably won't be able to do that with him as our every down TE.

Incidentally on MGoBlog they are saying what better place to go as a TE than under Harbaugh. LoLz. They think they could steal both Clark and Jones.

It is hilarious watching them go from "we're getting both?!?!" to "Aw he went to ND" to "Alize leaving UCLA means we might not get either?!"

It has looked like he was going to flip for over a month now. Chris Clark is visiting next weekend. Perhaps Aliz'e timed it to help out with our recruitment of Clark. I know we aren't in the lead for Clark, but the need at TE should give us a boost. I would like to have had both of them.

I wouldn't mind if Aliz'e took Fauria's path once he sees that Notre Dame's history, while great is just like Harvard's history in football - it's history.

There's another one. Subtle but it's there.

I don't recall a time we were this deep since the last 10 years, still a great pickup. Should be a huge matchup nightmare, coupled with the rest of our receiving corps, me thinks next year could be better.

At least we have history and are 2nd all time in NC's. What does UCLA have other than the dream of being considered a top program one day?

UCLA's football history rivals Lisa Ann's history of being a nun.

1, Really hard to find any good forums for them.
2, What they've said is all pretty much good riddance and bring on Christ Clark.

After losing Jones, they need a savior. Enter Christ Clark.

We are first by any objective measure.

Sorry bud. But I have to call you out on this post.

The sky is falling posts coming from you lately regarding recruting against Urban and Harbaugh have grown tiresome. Couple that with laughing at the fans who would rather wait and see results before panicking is amateurish at best.

But, I hope you are still able to celebrate this pick up. Kid is gunna be a big time

Oh snap, was Alize considering Michigan?

Standing applause, young man!! Welcome to Notre Dame [and my old school]. In 55 years I have never once regretted being part of the Notre Dame family. You'll be able to hold your head high for at least that long yourself. It's a great place with great people, and it is wonderful having another fine young man join the family.

Alize was our silent commit says Tom Lemming

Thats simply not true. Lemming might need to hang it up.

Let me say he may have been a silent commit but he wasn't the reason that Cager cancelled his OV.

Could you argue that he developed Coby Fleener? Also Zach Ertz for 2 years?

Both of those guys took off in production under Shaw NOT Harbaugh. I would totally get behind anyone saying Shaw has done great things with Ertz/Fleener and even Toilolo. There were no TEs who had great production under Harbaugh, and Vernon Davis saw a 35% reduction in production across the board (REC/YDS/TD) after Harbaugh took over.

The truth is there has never been a Harbaugh coached team where a TE has excelled. So the rest of your point... specifically on career stats... is moot relative to Harbaugh.

Although, I expect they'll land Chris Clark eventually, it would be kinda nice if he spurned them too and went to Michigan. Wait...did I say that? Maybe he'll go to Houston instead.

Lack of a playmaker at TE was painfully obvious this year. Big pick up.

Granted Golson didn't really throw to Eifert either.....

Alize would've been targeted the same amount as Koyak most likely. Koyak could've had more TDs and more catches but he simply wasn't targeted by the QB.

Hopefully our future QBs go through their progressions, because with this amount of talent, there will always be at least one person open.

And tall enough to see over the offensive line. Hard to throw the ball over the middle to a TE when you can't see.

Some quotes from the UCLA board I lurk on:

I havent heard much about Nico Fertitta as a player. Does he have a shot at much playing time at ND or was he more of a pawn to bring in Alize?

Nico Fertitta was the ultimate recruiting ploy for ND. He's a back up to the back ups and will only play in blow outs. The real attraction was his dad's money and particularly the prior relationship clause in the NCAA rule book.

As such the senior Fertitta can shower Jones with goodies and free trips on the corporate jet. The fact is Jones didn't really like his time in South Bend and would never go there is he obviously have promises for a get out town free card.

Watch this one as it will be interesting going forward. The local Indiana media isn't going to get anywhere near this one, but it wouldn't be surprising to have the Chicago Tribune or maybe ESPN following up on how many times Jones is on the jet.

(Aliz'e) Didn't enjoy his visit to ND

While I won't claim to know the truth, this is supported by him tweeting a picture of himself in a UCLA jersey immediately after his visit to South Bend.

Oh, well. We all have our reasons.

Nephew goes to ND. Wants out. Why? Cold, really cold from Sept to late April/early May when last snow melts.

Well it's not the quarterback situation Because we have it all over ND. Golston or whoever v Rosen? Who would you rather have throwing to you?

A passing offense in the dead of winter ... Good luck with that.

Let's be honest here. Fertitta and thier money is driving this issue. Just goes to show you, you can buy anything if you have the money, even TE. And the Fertitas are proving it.

Final ESPN 300

52 overall
1 TE
4*

ESPN blows.

I saw 17 guys ahead of him this year on their 300 list, many of them in person and AJ is the best player I saw as compared to others at his position, 2nd best overall. If Chris Clark is a 9, AJ is a 15. He looked like Devon Funchess at 20 years old playing for BG this year.

The only player I'd trade him for is Biggie Marshall.

Huge get and if OJ Howard was a 5 star, so is AJ.
