Man that sucks, it looks like he is gone. Too bad he would have been an awesome match with Nyles.

We can't afford to lose impact defensive players. Looking how bad our defense is, we need all impact players available.

Sad, I am sure he won't be the only defection of the verbals. What I am scared of is us most likely getting blown out by LSU and recruits seeing that. That is why I hated this choice of a bowl game.

I think we have more bad news coming than good news.

Which you'd enjoy seeing as you only seem to have negative posts.

Yup I agree. LSU is a bad choice for bowl opponents. I have always wondered why ND insists on playing the worse matchup teams. Dont teams have some kind of choices when they arent in the Tier 1 bowls? It is like ND just runs to the fight with their chins out only to be knocked on their asses. I guess the lure of the $$ is too much.

Lets face it guys, it will always be like this with recruits. ND isnt a top football school anymore. Most the kids that are athletics (which is 97% if the football players) first arent going to school for a great major. Heck, look at Nix. Wasnt he like film major or something so worthless to take at ND?

Not that it makes a difference. BK has had great recruiting and still loses to teams full of 2-3 stars. Dont see that changing no matter who we recruit.

Do you guys ever do any research? Have you seen what remains of those 2011 and 2012 classes. ND isn't exactly working with the top rated classes on top right now. Most of those classes, are no longer here or are injured/suspended. Most of that being the higher ranked players.

There's alway 2015, over the last 6 weeks has there been much positive? I guess the only positive is that Jaylon got 2nd Team All American and Fuller got Honorable Mention.

But, there has been almost nothing positive to post. I guess you can have rose colored glasses, but I look at it more realistic.

Loy says that he spoke to Coney and he isn't visiting anywhere. He said that his flight to ND is booked and he is 100% committed to ND. He spoke to Alford after speaking with Loy. He also said that he has a roommate as well.

Also, it goes without saying that reporters can be total dumbasses.

There was an LSU writer who put out a story the other day that was the biggest twist job I've ever seen. Sheldon Day said to him that he was interested in LSU during recruiting because they have great defensive lines but when he was making southern visits there wasn't many coaches around at LSU so he visited Auburn instead. The writer than twists that into an article with the title "Sheldon Day wanted to be a Tiger coming out of high school".... I mean, the fuq?

So it's very possible in response to leading questions that Tyson just misunderstood or warped what Coney was saying. Who knows.

Also, Mike Frank is reporting that he hasn't shut out Florida and he expects a battle all week on whether or not he makes a visit there. It's still unconfirmed whether he signed papers for Florida in addition to ND.

Coney's always been a flip risk. But what's that everyone likes to say about watching what a recruit does, not what he says? We'll see.

Until then, he's due on campus in like three weeks.

Settle down. Coney's always been a risk to flip. Of course the new Florida coach is going to make a run at him. But other than him and "He gone" Tillery is there even any noise around anyone else?

As for the bowl game, I don't believe we had any choice this time around. There was some sort of lottery for the ACC slots.

I'm not on Rivals, but this appears to be a Florida recruiting writer saying Coney says he's solid to ND.

Coney has told at least two writers and Tony Alford that he is 100% to ND so I'm not sure where these other articles are coming from or who they are quoting.

He also told another reported that he was likely to visit Florida soon after the All-Star game. So at minimum there are conflicting reports. Do we need to go through the list of guys who said they were "100%" and then decommitted within a matter of days?

One last thing to add -- unless I misunderstand the rules and he signed a grant-in-aid with Florida -- it's the dead period until January 14th. Which means he can't visit UF, because it's not allowed. And he's supposed to be at ND on the 15th. Soooo... ?

This isn't any statement directed towards you, but I don't believe a word any 18 year-old says -- especially a sought-after recruit. A recruit could tell me what their name is, and I'd at least *somewhat* think they're not telling the truth.

Summary: has open communication with Florida, and had Florida coaches in home (which we already knew). They pitched staying home and "representing the state of Florida." Says he's still set on ND but will talk to parents again before finalizing a decision.

Per Loy, Tevon was on the phone with Alford immediately following his interview with Loy. Obviously a good sign that they're communicating so much.

Another good sign is that Tevon tweeted Ben Edwards just 3 days ago, telling him to come to ND.

Seems to me he's confused about the meaning of "100% committed".
