A lot of them. He had a bunch of balls hit his hands and a lot of times he ran the wrong route. Tommy put the ball on him all game. You don't throw at a guy over 20 times and miss everytime. If that was the case, it would have been the same with the other receivers, which it wasn't.

Rewatch the game.

How do you know this?

I will re-watch the game, but I don't recall many (maybe one?) drops by Daniels. I remember the numerous overthrown and uncatchable balls thrown his way though. Tommy was off all game.

Mayock would agree with old man Daniels too. He called the play based on personnel more than once. Said something along the lines of "here come the blocking receivers, we'll see a run here."

And he was wrong several times.

I somewhat agree. Davaris definitely got beat by the MSU corners today but it wasn't his worst effort. Philip always complains when DD doesn't get the ball but having said that out packages do give away what we are going to do.

Again... Why does it matter if you are in 1on1 coverage?

He got thrown to over 20 times and got beat every single time. I don't care if Tommy yelled at the top of his lungs that he was going to him, if you can't beat 1on1 coverage, then sit your @ss down. Because Corey Robinson can.

Let me add, on the 3rd down conversion where Robinson caught the ball on the 1, Tommy stared down Daniels until the last second before going to Robinson. But just like every other down of the game, Daniels got his @ss handed to him I'm single coverage.

In the first quarter, didn't Reese overthrow Dd in the end zone?

I was at the game, so I didn't really notice Daniels. Then again, that's a problem in itself.

This was the impression I got watching in the stands. So many balls out of the field of play.

I think you are exaggerating the number of targets... And Tommy over threw him a couple times. On the PI he was in great position to make a play and Dennard drug him to the ground.

The long ball wasn't working. Why did not throw it under the safeties more? We went to the TE only once the whole game. One on one coverage -- who did they have covering out 6'7TE. I didn't get the play calling this whole game.

Does anyone know what our total targets to TEs are this year. Is it even greater than 10?

Yea I don't there was one comeback route. I am so creaking sick of third and short and we go empty set and throw deep. MAKE THE DEFENSE HONOR THE RUN.

exactly. Every time Tommy is in an empty set it is either a sell-out blitz or dropping 8 into coverage. Nobody is worried about Tommy running.

11 minutes left on the clock... what do we do?

give up any offensive game plan, and just predictable run middle every time, or if it's 3rd and short and don't feel like running the ball, go route overthrown or out of bounds.. Lol
Yep and we still won, who would have thought? You don't think the coaches felt comfortable with how the defense was playing to make those play calls? We were not playing aggressively at that point in the game, and it turned out the coaches were right in doing that.

If Kelly thought we needed to score to win we would have been winging it all over the place. He played conservative at the end, and dared Michigan State to beat them with the arm of their quarterbacks. This didn't happen for the Spartans, and therefore we won he game.

Does anyone remember the Weis era when we would be up in the closing minutes of the game, only to throw three times in a row and give the ball back? We made plays when we had to and won the game.

Niklas hasn't looked that bad. He needs more targets. We've thrown it 112 times. There is no excuse for our TEs to only have 15 targets.

It's inappropriate for him to say that kind of stuff twitter. That said, he is absolutely right. We have to become more unpredictable on offense. Even I knew exactly what we were going to run before it happened. That is not a good sign.

Nobody is worried about Tom Brady or Peyton Manning running from an empty set either. OBVIOUSLY TTR isn't Brady or Manning but the obsession over "our QB is slow" is beaten well past death on these boards. Teams win with pocket passers all the time.

That said, the playcalling needs to consist of offensive sets that don't telegraph what we're going to do. It's possible to run ten passes in a row and still have variety if you run DIFFERENT pass plays, but it seems like we have two: Arrows and Bubble.

It isn't just that Tommy is slow or that he is a pocket passer. We're discussing why they go into an empty set when it is 3rd and short, leaving the defense no doubt that it is going to be a pass and allowing them to focus 100 percent on stopping it. Keep a running back in in those situations to make the D respect the run (which they don't when Tommy is back there alone).

If anyone wants to feel better, watch Michigan. The most overrated team in the country. I cannot believe we lost to those idiots. They're laying another egg against Uconn. Luckily, Uconn is terrible on offense and is missing their starting WR and RT. But Gardner looks like an *** clown.

based on Purdue...our 6'7" tight end "covers himself" by dropping the ball...

UM being tied with UCONN makes me feel worse, not better.

*UM losing to UCONN...

If Uconn goes into half 14-7, I'm going to have 15 minutes of dreaming and it's going to be blissful.

Brady Hoke at halftime interview: "We hung in there, hung in there, but we gotta keep hanging in there". What a buffoon.
