...and?
...and?
Our D played well, but Connor Cook and Maxwell are pure garbage. My roommate last year played with Cook at Walsh-Jesuit and said that he was beyond awful and the only reason he got a scholarship was because of his size and athleticism. I am mad at the play calling more than the offense. But our Defense did win us the game today.
Um...I disagree. That's always a huge thing.
And we've only lost one regular season game since Purdue last year.
Good thing, but I think the point is, that's the best thing that happened.... weak sauce all around again. O, D, STs, coaching, etc.. IMO this is not a top 25 team. I guess we'll see over the next 3 games / 4 weeks, but outside of Tommy being consistent, there wasn't a whole lot to be pleased about. I do like that they aired it out a bit more, but Tommy couldn't really hit the long ones today.

He hit several. In some cases the receiver ran the route too close to the sidelines to give him a chance. But the biggest knock on Tommy was his tendency to turn the ball over. He's not doing that.
Which is 1 more than last year. Offense, defense, playcalling are all worse than last year.
Two and a half tough games coming up, will tell us more.

Wha?
We've won 15 of our last 17 games. One last year, one this year.
My point is this: People bitched about Purdue last year. Pitt. BC. BYU. But we won. What's consistent? We keep winning those games...somehow. I'd love to win by more. But I also love winning. I haven't been that nervous the last couple of games because I genuinely believe that we're going to win in the end. That's new.

The only reason we won today.
If you call two, several (I would call it a few), then OK. The one to Robinson, and the one to Fuller are the only long ones. I believe at least one of them was underthrown. Truth is, we were the recipient of officiating generosity today (pass interfer). Without that generosity, it's a different game.
Point is, TR didn't turn it over, which is a good thing. Not a whole lot of anything other than that to be happy about (total team). TR did however have his lowest total output of the year. Give MSU some credit as they do have a good D, but playing calling again was pretty darn poor.
We'll be lucky to go 1-2 the next two games. I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see a lot of improvement, nor do I see any consistency or flow to our O.
That's what people do.... lots more to bitch about this year.
Time to get your nerves worked back up the 2-3 weeks
ND deserves to be ranked, for instance Washington has only beaten 1 semi good team in Boise st, while playing no ones after that. Today we beat the team that is most likely the 25th or 26th best team in country..BOTTOM line imo!

I would not call MSU the 25th or 26th best team. They haven't beaten a decent team this year. I do agree Washington is overrated.
Tuitt really came up huge at the end of that game. A huge sack, and a pressure on a 3rd down. Nix as well with a couple big batted balls/tips.
Maybe one or two of the PI calls were questionable, but they were also a biproduct of going deep.
Well they were the "26th team" coming into this game, with the most votes of anyone outside the top 25.
