Being reported that Anderson was "frustrated' with academic hurdles getting kids in to school... now imagine how frustrated Kelly may or may not be...

This is a frustration that Jimbo, Spurrier, and plenty of other head coaches will never know.

Who should Wisconsin go after? I think Bo Pelini. Is familiar with the big 10/midwest, can win 9 games, isn't a young guy looking to build his resume then bolt, recognizeable name in recruiting.

Who else?

Chryst is a slam dunk pick really. He had James Connor getting crazy numbers this year. Sounds like Wisconsin needs to up the salaries of their assistants, Rutgers paying theirs more is just embarrassing for them.

Here s a link for those note knowing where to find this info.

Here is a list of notable schools that pay more for assistants than what Wisky does ($2.36M)

Rutgers $2.44M
Maryland $2.59M
Colorado $2.6M
NC State $2.69M
K State - $2.8M
Lville - $3.2M

Just short of Wisky is Army, at $2.32M.

For reference - LSU's two coordinators make $2.6M combined ($5.5M total staff pay)

Other interesting notes - Kiffy makes roughly 50% of what Kirby Smart does, Scott Frost is making $400K which should make him easy pickings, Chris Leak went from being a terrible radio host to making $150K at UF, MSU pays Pat Narduzzi almost 3X as much as the next highest assistant coach, Charley Molnar is making $46K at Idaho, Autrey Denson is getting $75K at Miami Ohio.

Uh, Pelini just signed up with Youngstown St. Not sure he'd be that big of a tool and dump them a week later.

Article on Andersen leaving Wisconsin:

Wisconsin Badgers coach Gary Andersen leaving to take Oregon State job - ESPN

Sounds like he and his family just wanted to get back to the Northwest.

Still a puzzling career move to me. I get he wants to be in the Northwest, but it's not like the Northeast, you can't just drive down to Utah from Oregon to visit the family on the weekend.

Seems like he should have tried to wait for the Utah job to open up (Wittingham will leave eventually) and gun for that.

Part of it could be the awful winters. It's probably 50 in Oregon and -4 in Wisconsin right now. I've gotten multiple snapchats of negative degree weather from back home already. It's a pretty big deal if you move from nice weather.

Honestly, Jim is probably heading for the Bears. Given the situations, the Bears are definitely a more attractive destination. That team has way too much talent to be sitting at 5-8 right now. Harbaugh would be the guy to light a firecracker up their ass.

I would shed tears of joy if Harbaugh landed at the Bears, which is exactly why it will never happen.

It was mid 40s yesterday and I was cold all day. Felt like 20 degrees used to feel in Wisconsin. People who stay there don't get it and people who leave never go back.

Two months of winter now with plenty of 60 degree days mixed in is a far cry from 5 or 6 months of winter with weeks on end of below zero temperatures. F-ing miserable way to live.

Yeah, it's a good point, I was thinking the same thing. It's gotta be like a 12 hour drive from Corvallis to Utah, right? I'm not sure exactly where Andersen is from, but it's gotta be something like that.

koonja might be on the right track ... maybe it is as much "being in the West," from a cultural/lifestyle perspective, as it is proximity to family.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are expected to hire Baylor offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery to be their next football coach, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad on Thursday.

Another move.

I know you have to start somewheres but I doubt I am leaving one of the best OC jobs in the country to be a coach at a low level team.

This isn't an EA video game. Tulsa isn't a bad gig for a first time head coach.

And it isn't "one of the best OC jobs in the country", he's simply one of the best offensive coordinators in the country.

As guessed by many on here, sounding like Chryst -> Wisconsin is just a matter of time.

Man, Pittsburgh has an even harder time keeping coaches than Wisconsin.

well it was obvious chryst was gonna leave whenever a BigTen job came up and Todd Graham is a careerist hack who will ditch ASU in time too.
