He's coming to either the Northwestern game or the Louisville game.

I agree with this. Physically he has the look of a very good LB prospect. He looks much bigger than he was last year (added 20-30 lbs) and IMO his lateral quickness seems to be the trade off. Straight line speed is there but quickness and agility seem to be a little behind. Considering how good he looked over the summer in that category I'm willing to be patient. Top 100 Junior but definitely not #17.

Greg Ladky, Rivals analyst, says this summer he was doing things as a LB in one on one drills that he only sees out of 1 or 2 guys a year. Made covering and running with RB's look easy. Said he is a freakish athlete just not a freakish football talent yet. But he's only a HS JR. and with good coaching sky's the limit for this kid. Would love to see him in BVG's system. Likely to visit for either the NW or UL game in November.

Yep and Loy said that BVG wants this kid for his system big time

I think it will be extremely hard for USC to hang onto a Michigan kid that ND is after for the next 16 or so months.

USC fans be like "We should stop recruiting Michigan. Just a waste of resources."

Is he or isn't he? Okay, you two get together and get this straightened out.

Word has it that he may be visiting Michigan this weekend so if he shows up for that well then pretty safe to say that homer Scott is wrong yet again. I would be willing to bet a large sum that Hayes takes visits and will visit ND before the seasons over.

Michigan?! So that's why he moved back to MI from Cali. He heard the low-down from Harbaugh that he's taking the head coaching position. Fvck Michigan

Assuming he doesn't live right outside of the stadium, if those clown punchers can get a visit, I bet we can if we keep winning.

I hope he does take the visit, just shows he is looking around and proves that blowhard Scott is wrong yet again.

Indeed. Leave it to Schrader to get Irish fans to root for anything positive for Michigan. What a dbag he is.

(Have I made it apparent that I cannot stand the guy?)

Notre Dame is a special school."

Per Hemoldt This recruitment is wide open right now and Notre Dame is really in a strong position. They are a school that fits his personality well, and I would keep a close eye on him over the next 15 months.

Was hoping for this!!! We need to land this kid, would be an absolute stud in our attacking defense

Good prospect with the added bonus of sticking it to Scott "You Have No Idea What Is Brewing" Schraeder.

Could Hayes grow into a WDE? If so, he could be the final puzzle piece for this recruiting class.

Can he graduate early and join the '15 Shamrock Soldiers?

No.

And to Whiskey 's question about Hayes growing into a WDE, doubtful they would move him there. He has elite athleticism for a kid with ideal measurables for a linebacker. I think putting a hand in the ground would be a waste of Hayes' talents.

I only asked it because I blanked and thought Hayes was a '15 recruit. Since that's not the case, I fully agree with recruiting him as an OLB.

drake29,

I saw the kid eye to eye and it'll be hard to keep him from getting DE sized. He already looked like Adrian Wilson at the start of his junior year in high school. To be honest, I wouldn't doubt if he's closer to 6-4 than 6-3 and at least 230lbs. I don't know how he's gonna stay LB sized unless he never lifts and joins the cross country team on the side.

Now, the question is, can he be an effective 4-3 OLB in BVG's system if he's 6-4, 250lbs because that's where I see him heading. It can be done, I guess. Brian Urlacher comes to mind as a 6-4, 260lb guy that could've played any LB position at any level though he wasn't as big as Hayes is when he was Hayes' age.

Hayes is a LB and BVG wants him badly as Jaylon's replacement. Freak athlete who is just learning how to play.

Bookmark this page and check back in the future. Bilal is more Jaylon Smith sized than Hayes is. I'll stand by what I said regarding Hayes' future physical maturation. I hope he can remain a viable option at OLB, there has been players do it before but to say he isn't gonna get DE sized is probably wrong. Dude is grown as a junior.

Size wise he seems like an OLB. Not seeing this huge DE you speak of. If he is 225 at 6' 3" he is right where you would want him as a junior. Coached guys that were like this and their bodies change a buy but they just do not get massively huge and gain tons of weight. Let the coaches figure that out I guess.
