Jimbo-fisher-s-postgame-advice-to-jameis-winston-included--humble--humble-pie

Gonna be sick

Jameis Winston and Jimbo Fisher embraced on the field following Florida State's 31-27 win against Notre Dame. As the two were together, microphones picked up the advice that Fisher gave his star quarterback.

ESPN had thrown the coverage down to the field to Tom Rinaldi for an interview with Fisher. The embrace between Winston and coach happened before the interview could begin, as Winston shouted "Let's enjoy this one right here, let's enjoy this one right here, baby. Let's go."

"Now here's what you've got to do," Fisher said into Winston's ear. "Calm down, don't give them ... act very passive right here and get people back on your side. Do you understand what I'm telling you? Humble, humble pie. You got me?"

Winston responded "I got you," to which Fisher replied "Don't get cranked up" before fireworks drowned out the end of their conversation.Rinaldi asked Fisher what he said to Winston.

"To understand what he did and just how special he is," Fisher said. "And the relationship he and I have, the relationship he has with the team and what he represents and to carry himself with class and dignity."

Winston has come under scrutiny again amidst the reported discovery of over 2,000 signed items on a memorabilia authentication website. Florida State said it is looking into the signatures and has no proof that WInston took any money for his autographs, an NCAA violation. Winston was also suspended for a game earlier this season for shouting an obscene phrase in the student union and suspended from the baseball team this spring after receiving a citation for shoplifting seafood at a grocery store.

Last Friday, Winston was notified of a university disciplinary hearing and possible code of conduct charges relating to allegations of sexual assault against him in December 2012. While Winston was not charged with a crime due to lack of evidence in the case, by rule, the school is required to investigate all reports of sexual assault.

Plus, reports emerged Friday that Florida State officials received police reports from the alleged sexual assault before a Florida State attorney did and that Tallahassee police have a history of being lenient to Florida State football players. Fisher used the platform after beating No. 5 Notre Dame to defend his program once again, saying it was run with class and dignity.

"The heart and discipline in that room. There's character, there's heart, there's a team full of great kids. It's a high character program that's ran the right way on class, on dignity, in the classroom, on the field and off the field and this team shows it. .

I'm okay with the loss. Would have LOVED to win, and the way it basically ended on that penalty is BS, but I was just glad we actually took it to FSU and made a game of it. Hell, we either led or were tied for most of the game, can't ask for more than that if you're going to lose. An embarrassing performance would have been hard to take, but I can't be embarrassed for the way we handled ourselves last night. Very proud of the team, they did a hell of a job.

Agree...........Hearts got ripped out with that call, but we went toe to toe with them and showed everyone that ND is legit.

1. We ran against a team we weren't supposed to. Coming out party for the Oline?
2. TF solidified his position as the #1 back.
3. Team showed they are not afraid of anyone.
4. D-line handled their O-line for most of the game.
5. Only issue I had was leaving the middle of the field open all game. Would have liked to show blitz and drop into coverage to possibly get a pick or knock one or two down.

Every commentator that I've heard so far [admittedly I haven't heard the dimwit duo of Keyshawn and Desmond] have talked about us as an elite team who can play with anyone. This game, at the minimum, did that. If we win out, the nation [generally] thinks ND is back.

Add to that the coming out party for C-Rob

There is another video now posted in the blown call thread showing an end zone view of the play. This video also clearly shows the DB's had interfered with the WRs on the play. FS blew the coverage and they should have lost. The evidence just keep piling up. Also a big discussion about how Brian Kelly took the refs to task for blowing the call and how they tried to change the blame to Fuller, which made less sense to Kelly than their original stance that CJ was guilty. The ACC is backpedaling on their story and looking worse by the minute.

I'm kidding of course, but we really need to let it go because ITS OVER AND DONE. It doesn't fucking matter whether it was a good or a bad call. Let go and move on. The loss was painful enough.

The confidence this team got from last night will pay off dividends in the future. ND has some big road games left on the schedule and inexperience was my biggest concern last night.

ND played toe to toe with one of the best and most experienced teams at their house all night. ND returns 27 kids that are in their first or second year of eligibility.

The ASU game is going to be tough, but its not going to be as wild as last night. The communication was great on both sides of the ball and that will be huge at ASU with their offense being so fast. Use FSU as a building block for the rest of the way.

ND figured a lot more out last night than any other game. They figured out how to get their run game going and not only have success, but make it a game changer. They just need to work on short yardage situations a little bit more bc that more than anything hurt them last night.

Understand your position. However, each is free to do as he pleases. You may understand this was a big game from all sorts of standpoints, and people will be talking about it for a long time. Win or lose, it was actually pretty historic. It was a great game, but sux that either team would have it decided on a last second penalty. But no, this will be talked about for a long time...

I can't tell anything from that video

It shows how CJ was being manhandled from the get go, and how Fuller simply made a cut and the DB ran into him. No offensive PI should have been called. Now that we have all of the angles, it really is clear they blew the call.

Also the ACC is changing their story on who the call was on, and BK called the refs out in his after game comments, which he never does. So plenty of fuel for the fire, making for more interesting conversation on the ending of the game ..

You can see Darby jump the slant route in front of Fuller, and Procise get jammed and held.

I'm just saying it all happens very quickly and it's not a better angle than the one we have been seeing. We all know we got hosed. Let's move on from this particular discussion.

Going into the game all I heard was how ND was overrated again and it was gonna be a NCG repeat and all that shit. Now you see people actually impressed with ND and some saying we shouldn't move spots and we belong there. The loss fucking sucks no doubt but the respect that was earned last night helps ease the pain of it.

Also this is impressive

"27 of the 48 Notre Dame players that played against FSU are in their first or second years of eligibility"

Boy, i'll tell you. That hit at the end by Sheldon must have turned a few heads. He absolutely destroyed Karlos Williams who is a big and strong SOB.

O-line was awesome last night. If this is a taste of what's to come from the trenches, then watch out. Not many teams will be able to play with us.

Brady Quinn had a nice tweet to Reggie Bush last night.
Reggie tweeted, "Hate to see a game decided on that". To which Brady responded, " '@ReggieBush: Hate to see a game decided on that'. BELIEVE ME REGGIE...I do too!"

Having a QB the size of cam newton or Blake Bell helps tremendously in this regard for teams that operate their offense out of the shotgun. Conversely, having a 185lb QB makes it more difficult.

Or....a daring endeavor named the pistol formation can help, assuming the coach doesn't like that whacky and crazy method of delivering a snap directly to the QB standing under center.

Most teams that operate from the shotgun struggle when they move the QB under center though, this isn't a problem unique to ND. But this has been an objection of mine on Kelly his entire time at ND. I don't understand BK's reluctance to run plays from the pistol or from under center. Hell, if nothing else, perhaps the team could simply execute the plays better when they decide to operate that way. It's noticeably awkward for EG to take a snap under center. That shouldn't be the case.

I've waited 24 hrs before I post any thoughts because I was pretty damn hot last night and may have got banned. Now here goes. 1-Kelly has proven to be a great coach and the reason this school has come back, he made fisher look like a clown. 2-can we end the conversation about this team needs to be in a conference and they don't play anyone or compete against the big boys. A big boy just got thru by the skin of his ass ( at home ). 3- How much prouder could you be of this, university and its football team-they were magnificent last night in maybe the worst situation you could put a team, and how crappy does fsu come off as jimbo continues to (as he says look for leaders and men of character) tout his winners after the game. I'm actually laughing as I type. Lastly great job by the o line( they did run the ball well as I thought they would ) and to name one player who had a fine game would be just wrong-they all played the $##@# off and seem to be a bit pissed that they didn't make enough plays--bravo don't look back just go get 5 more wins. It could happen because this is a damn fine football team. Hats off boys you did proud.

The fourth down play where the snap was bobbled, might have been on Hegarty more than Golson bc that snap came up really hard or Golson was rushing the snap bc that pitch was there. I was really surprised they went to the pitch out of the same formation later in the game bc FSU knew what was coming. It was too far for a qb sneak and they had already tried to run the pitch play.

As for short yardage struggles, they seem to do fine on the goalline, but struggle on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1. Id love to see them start rolling Golson out or just continue to pound Folston off the left A-gap behind Martin in an off-set Shotgun formation bc Folston gets a few more different angles to attack the LOS

Yeah, I agree with this. I still think that lining up under center or in the pistol can help here too though.

I loved the attacking running game Saturday night. Loved the handoffs with the RB running basically straight ahead, and not laterally for 4 or 5 steps like we seem to often see.

End of game sucked. Got it. ND got the ass end. Got it. That was one of the greatest football games I've seen in a very long time, even if ND wasn't playing I would think that. Cant do anything about the past, only do the work to put the future outcome in their favor. We'll see how it has to work out when the Playoff committee releases their first poll. Going off the AP their are 4 losses in front of ND. ND wins out they're in a great position. If I'm on that team my desire after Saturday just went into a higher mode. My drive in life would be redemption. Hopefully that's the message they get.

So, we're all in agreement that Fuller was doing more blocking than route-running on the negated TD?
