With Cager scheduling a late OV, what are the odds we give him the green light if ESB doesn't pop after this weekend? I think ESB is special, but Cager has a ton of talent too so I'd rather end up with him than holding an empty bag.

Well Wiltfong doesn't make up the rankings by himself. So, there's obviously other individuals opinions involved that reflect that number. With that said, yes, Wiltfong believes Cager is an elite outside WR. He's seen him multiple times in person and raves about him.

Just my opinion, but a 6'5" guy with a near 40" vert that is a pure WR who has been successful in camps and on the field is a take every time. I know a lot of people like receivers that fit a role, but, and this might be biased by my growing up around basketball primarily, it's demoralizing to an opponent and a safety blanket for a teammate to be able to say "put it above where he can get, and I'll bring it down". I don't really care if that means C-Rob, ESB and Cager all line up together. Who could stop that inside the 20?

Wiltfong believes it comes down to one of two teams, pOSU and Bama. He didn't even mention that he had a ND official visit scheduled between pOSU and Bama. I don't know if this is an indication of what Wiltfong believes Cager's interest is or if it's an indication that he believes that the Irish get a different receiver and won't have room for Cager.

Side note: I saw on one article that part of the reason that he was considering Bama was because he is good friends with Minkah Fitzpatrick.

We're just not recruiting him as hard as those other programs are. We very much think that we get ESB and until he says or acts otherwise we're going to stick with it for a while.

Probably nothing. Maybe the Frozen Five's resolution has clarified some roster management issues going forward, so now there's room for Cager?

Didn't mean to cause panic haha, just that he didn't have the glowing quotes after the visit that many recruits give. Something about the "I will stay in contact with them [ND]" rubbed me the wrong way, but I'm insecure and can't have nice things so....
