I can't begin to tell you how ecstatic I am about this pickup for Notre Dame. I think the program probably would have been fine with quarterback depth if they didn't land anyone in 2015, but going from no one to landing a player like Wimbush is massive. I have watched film on and seen most of the top quarterbacks in this recruiting class throw in person. There are very few as talented as him.
Out of all the players who attended the Elite 11 back in July, I didn't see anyone with a stronger arm than Wimbush. I really can't do it justice by describing it or sharing video of it. Although, if I had to describe it, it would be arm strength "like whoa". It's kind of ridiculous to see it in person. I thought he might actually dent the chest of a few of the young local kids who were taking part in drills before the receivers from The Opening showed up.
One thing I saw from him then and also made note of from his junior year was that he tended to rifle in the ball on just about every throw. I liked his mechanics and his footwork, but he didn't show the touch on some throws that required it.
That is something that looks to have changed with him during his senior season. He now has added those touch throws to his game.
Can't rep you but thanks for posting Whiskey. OFD has been putting together some really really good articles. Kudos to those guys.
OFD's Jamie Uyeyama just published a film breakdown of why Wimbush is a perfect fit for Kelly's offense. Here's a small excerpt:
Well worth a read.
Here's a pretty cool link that follows the Elite 11 QB's throughout the season. Easy way to look at comparisons between the prospects.

The (Notre Dame) offense is a version of what we do,” said Hansen. “I actually got a lot of it from Kelly. So he just feels really comfortable there.
And nothing pisses off Wharton grads more than when you point that out.<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="http://t.co/C5wdEuC63g">http://t.co/C5wdEuC63g</a> - Wimbush explains flip to Notre Dame "I want to study acct & ND has great Business School"<a href="https://t.co/P9EZI4rCFb">https://t.co/P9EZI4rCFb</a></p>— Tom Mendoza (@TomMendozaTalks) <a href="https://twitter.com/TomMendozaTalks/status/520261538528362496">October 9, 2014</a></blockquote>

Opened it before his commitment I assume? He opened communication with us as well way before anyone thought he was looking here.
ND isn't losing a kid to VT. Sorry.
I mean we have lost recruiting battles to VT not a lot but we have. Just like we have lost recruiting battles to Houston
Brandon Wimbush – St. Peter’s Prep
Wimbush turned in yet another efficient game on Friday going 12 for 14 with 202 yards and three touchdowns. The Marauders (5-1) stomped Bayonne 49-0 and will host Union City (5-1) this weekend.

I could get with that.
That's kind of who he reminds me of. Little stocky build, he also reminds me of a little bit bigger Everett Golson. Who cares, I am just freaking excited this kid is gonna be playing for us
Golson is a turnover machine...
Golson is not an interception machine...
