Phil Steele just picked the Irish to win 23-20 on his ESPN pick 'em feature on the BYU v. Utah State game halftime show.

Question: Is Stanford's scholarship fill issue equal to or worse than nd's?

Hope he didn't pick BYU to win, or his wedding dress has a wine stain on it right now.....

Haha, that's a great point. I wish I could look it up. You used to be able to see his weekly picks for free at philsteele.com, but since he got in bed with ESPN it's an ESPN Insider only deal. And I refuse to give those [expletives redacted] a dime.

Did anyone hear about or see the pep rally? Did the players look healthy or under the weather. The flu bug rumor going around scares me. I'm just wondering how bad it is and how many people it effected.

90% chance of rain come kickoff per weather.com. Lake effect I believe which isn't hard but annoying rain and often windy.

Hope we win the toss and as others noted, defer.

Didn't realize Taysom Hill broke his leg last night in the first half. That surely effected the BYU outcome.

2 people I know are on a train from Virginia and they forgot their tickets. If anyone has 2 to sell to these idiots, PM me please.

Send them to the box office. Bad weather means wives, olds, and children bailing at the last minute.

High of 48, winds 10-20, 80% chance rain.

Not pleasant for visitors but great for the game IMO.

Max Redfield in 2012 didn't mind so much. He loved the fact the stadium was full despite awful weather.

In other news, I have been looking for a wood burning insert for months. Couldn't afford a new $3,000 unit, but than randomly found a guy that is remodeling his brand new house and doesn't want his never used wood burning insert. Told me if I remove it, I can have it.

Coincidence?... I think not...

Hell of a score!

I'll be driving home from a soccer game and will probably miss the first half. Super excited about this one - I am hoping the flu doesn't do us in.

EG is the difference and the Irish pull away late.

28-14 Go Irish! TIMBER!!

Just like I felt for the Michigan game. These two teams played close last year. Both teams have some key losses. Only one side is greatly improving at an important position, and that's ND with it's QB.

Irish 27
Stanford 17

Oddly enough Palmer just said the exact same thing on ESPN this morning. Apparently he's flawless (or near) this year. He picked us by one score stating the same logic you threw down last night.

Shaw to Oakland. I'm calling it.

Good call. I could see that. And I think it would be the best hire they've had in some time.

Squadd will be in full force tomorrow.

I knew he was electric. But man, he can light up his clothes?

Quick story. I got almost to Detroit one time and forgot the 2 tickets at home for the Pistons game. Realized it while at a gas station around the corner. So while my buddy was bitching at me while we were standing in line, the lady in front of us heard. She turned around and asked if we really forgot them 3 hours away. She asked we come see her and her husband at their vehicle when we left the store. We did. He gave us 3 tickets to their lower level box. They owned a mattress company and were entertaining a client that day and had a few extra tickets. It was during the mid 2000s when the Pistons were on their run. They played the Lakers that day. It all worked out in the end. I hope it does for them too.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

It took a lot of favors to finnegle some tickets to bring my non-alumni roommate to the msu game last year. I was traveling in from Cleveland and he had the tickets in Minneapolis. He forgot them coming down, so we had to get in touch with as many alumni in the area as we could until we found someone who was leaving the day of the game. We found a person flying in at the last minute. Our friend went by the house, picked up the tickets, and drove them to the airport. We got them that afternoon. Never say die!
