Who has been sleeping on him? He's probably our most anticipated offensive recruit since Jimmy Clausen. Dude got applause for his first carry in mop-up time against Temple.

Seriously. The hype surrounding him his immense. If we're sleeping on anybody, it's not GB

85% of the NFL's leading rushers last year avoided SEC defenses in college. They all seem to be doing just fine, but I'm sure your friend may scoff that NFL defenses aren't on par with SEC ones.

Greg Bryant a quick study for Notre Dame football - ND Insider: Football

Loved this quote at the end

But so does what’s in his backpack. And it’s a story he shares with visiting recruits, especially those, like Bryant, who come from faraway places.

“I tell them it’s not going to be easy,” he said. “It’s going to be a tough transition. It’s going to be hard. The weather and everything is going to be tough. Coming from where you come from and just being around the people here at Notre Dame, it’ll just make you a better person and just make you a man, make you want to be successful.

“I told (them), I’m in class trying to raise my hand, just trying to get my teacher’s attention. That actually makes you want to be a better person and make you want to like succeed in stuff where you never thought you would.
“I just (said), ‘If you come here, you’ll want to be successful. It’ll be in you."

This kid is awesome!

And to all those that thought Everett made the goal line mistake, hah!

I want 20+ carries a game from him. Every game.

Agreed. Folston hasn't been able to get going either. Let them get in a groovy. I love Cam and he can come in at crunch time, for pass blocking, and an occcasional run, but time to let Folston and Bryant loose. Cam is not a play maker and IMO Folston is just as consitent as him, and Bryant will get there with reps.

Folston's been disappointing this year, but IMO it's not his fault. It's the OL combined with the fact that he's not left in for longer.

I agree. Cam needs to be the 3rd down back and that's it. Period. Let him pass block and take the occasional draw/pass out of the backfield.

Cam's reception yards, and third down conversions have to be as good as any back's on the team.

Cam just doesn't add anything that Folston and Bryant can't do (or will get better at with reps).

Folston hasn't fumbled, missed blocks that I'm aware of, and is a significantly better runner IMO. Bryant hasn't fumbled, missed a read on the Golson rushing TD once, and has been solid in pass blocking (or at least I haven't noticed him, which is a good thing).

Both Folston and Bryant are better runners IMO and can make bigger plays, so the risk is low and reward high with them taking 80% of the carries IMO.

It keeps coming down to production. No one has really separated themselves from Cam, especially out of the backfield, at the first down marker, or on the goal line.

But we know what we're getting with Cam. Bryant we see flashes of it, but it never reaches a point of 'in rhythm'. Same with Folston IMO, who I think we agree is a better runner than Cam. When we start playing Stanford and FSU, Cam's not scaring them and we're going to need playmakers in those games, not just consitency.

Consistency is good, but getting the playmakers to be the consistent ones is more dangerous.

Wouldn't you want Bryant to be the 3rd down back considering he is more of a receiving threat and is ,arguably, just as hard of a runner?

But keep giving Cam his share of the rock IMO. He's done nothing in his career at ND for BK to take reps away from him

IMO, you don't have to do something wrong to lose your place in college sports. If someone more talented than you comes along that can help the team win more than you can, your role should be reduced.

We've got a lot of horsepower in Folston and Bryant. Time to let them gallop.

The you're just letting talent rot away on the bench. Cam is the most consistent back of the 3. Yeah, he might not be the most "flashy" but we all know he is gonna get the job done when he is called upon. You can't teach consistency.
