So this rule clearly wasn't what was in effect, because what they called was roughing the passer and the player was NOT ejected. And he wasn't hit high, he was blocked with two hands in his chest.
100% legal because it was a normal block on a return. If Redfield doesn't make that block, Gardner actually has the angle to tackle Shumate.
