So wait, are you not going to celebrate commitments but still get upset when guys decommit? That sounds like a lose-lose situation to me.

No, I'll just remain indifferent until NSD. Hopefully that's when the real partying can begin! Unless you have another EV. Aw hell, nevermind.

I'm curious as to what part ot Tiassum's film you weren't excited about? It is his film (along w Taylor's) you are talking about correct?

Just didn't have the wow factor considering he's probably not playing very good competition.

If you thought he was dominant that's fine, but that's not the impression I got.

This kid was running backs down when they tried to escape him. And quarterbacks. That is after playing off his blocks. That is a head start for the backs. With this kid size, just think about that for a minute.

I think he may be bigger and faster than Chocolate. Question is, will he be stronger?

Exactly what I thought.

ND isn't a real football school? Your opinions more often than not are not the same as many posters who view the same film. Not that it really matters, just saying.

For the record, I originally said I wasn't blown away with him and Taylor's film but glad to have them because these type of DL mght actually stick around for 5 years.

And I've been defending that point ever since lol.

I do like Brandon's film more than Taylor's, but I want blown away by it.

If you think that's a joke of an opinion, that's fine, but I couldn't care less whether or not my opinion aligns with everyone else's.

I was going to agree with you to an extent that this kid is a huge project. His body is a project (more so than normal) and his skill level technique needs a lot of work. However, you lost me when you said that you like his film better than Taylor's. I'm not sure there is one trait that shows up on film that I like from Brandon better than Taylor. Taylor holds the point of attack better (against better/stronger OL). He uses his hands better. For a HS junior Taylor does a good job of stacking and shedding blockers. Tiassum does very little of that. I think Taylor has a better motor, footwork, get off, etc. Basically everything.

I honestly thought Brandon looked more disruptive. But IDK the difference in competition between the two.

Ok, sorry for being short, I'm just tired of defending my opinion on this because I don't think what I said is outrageous, lol.

You can't help how you are born.

It isn't just you. I think a lot of people on this site don't get what the staff is looking for from a defensive tackle prospect. And I don't think that a lot of people are going to naturally understand the position when they haven't played it. I think you have two defensive tackles that are going to be versatile, and will be able to two gap effectively. (That is an uncommon combination. Makes getting two more like getting three, IMO.)

Those are pretty ridiculous stats for a DT!

I'm very pleased that we have Tiassum, Dew-Treadway and Taylor on board early. 3 very large human beings that will be a force in the middle of the Irish DL!

Putting in work with Coney:
“I got to talk to Te’von Coney for a little bit and also Micah Dew-Treadway and some other guys,” he said.
He feels good about Coney after speaking with the 2015 Florida linebacker.
“We just talked briefly about what he was thinking about and what he was leaning toward,” he said. “After that, I think Notre Dame should be a frontrunner.
“I just tell him about the family aspect, how the coaches are like father figures to the players and the rich tradition, the opportunity to get a good great education and also play football. It’s second to none.”

Hopefully any doubts about our current DT commits were buried by the performance of our lowly 3:s: true freshmen against Michigan. Especially that Daniel Cage fellow.

No doubt...said it in the game day thread, but cage is special! He had Michigan center looking like he was wearing roller skates!

AND, we're showing all the defensive recruits that they have REAL chances to play meaningful minutes immediately. Keep those defensive substitutions and packages coming BVG!!!

Over/Under on VanGorder's dt recruits that play earlier, and to a higher level than Nix?

Imagine BVG with more depth. He hasn't been here to help guide a full recruiting class. Tiassum will be a great addition to this interior.
