He could be just trying to relieve a little tension with the start of the high school football season. He knows everywhere he goes to play, he is gonna hear it from the LSU faithful. He seems pretty solid to the Irish, and has said so on many occasions. If I gotta hang my hat on something, then I guess that would be it. But man... he is gonna hear it every Friday night for the next four months.

while i dont completely disagree that it may trap kids, i think that if kids sign early and it is not allowed for schools to contact them at all then it takes away any temptation for a signed kid to flip. That is why kids flip, because schools are still coming hard after them. If a kid signs, and that's that's, then kids won't have that pressure from other schools.

Some kids flip because they realize they rushed into a decision. Some kids flip because their priorities change as the reality of college approaches. Some kids flip because a head (or assistant) coach they like leaves a program. Some see their stock rise as seniors and get more options. And you think coaches won't pressure them even harder if there's an early signing period?
They're teenagers making the biggest decision of their lives. They're not always going to get it right the first time.
