They play Servite next week out here in the OC. Should be a hell of a game. Fox sports west is televising the game.
Lol kid looks small for High School football.
Well, then add one more to that list, because I didn't see anything on that tape that impressed me. Certainly not the cheap shot he pulled on the final play of the clip. I have no idea what made him think that was a good thing to put on a highlight reel. They were completely away from the play and he saw that the other guy wasn't paying attention to him (why would he, the play is no where near either of them) and hit a defenseless player. Bush league shit.
Not impressed.
Captain of the best HS team in the country, shows out well at every camp, we have open scholarships every single year, his "floor" is a Mike Anello caliber special teams impact player, has A+ intangibles, and is a leader of this recruiting class who puts in more work than some coaches.
Give it a fucking rest already. If you can't appreciate how this was a great offer for ND, then you're extremely narrow minded.

Said from the start the kid reminds me of Mathieu. Just plays violent and has crazy strong hands. Love that play there where he scoops the fumble up as opposed to diving on it. That just screams Mathieu to me. He's trying to make a play as opposed to playing it safe and diving on it. Love seeing that.
Also, I don't care if he weighs 170, we could've used him this past year against Navy.
Think he's the type of kid who may not be a "starter" but will be used a lot whether its blitzing off the edge or taking the place of the Sam on passing downs.
I have the perfect position for Nicco Fertitta - sitting next to Jesse Bongiovi on the Notre Dame bench.

If Austin Collinsworth can be a multi year starter at ND then I don't see how Nico can be ruled out so easily

Collinsworth's continued success is an effective argument. Your point is well taken.
I must be narrow minded but I still don't see any benefit up to this point at ND. If you're worried about not getting up to 85 scholarships then spend a scholly on a kid who's a freak athlete with no football background. Find a freaking Bruce Heggie for all I care - somebody with size/measurable that makes sense to offer. Mike Anello caliber special teams player? Mike Anello was a fucking boss - we'll see if Fertitta becomes as accomplished as a guy who didn't have a scholarship to play at ND until his senior season.
imsorrywhat?
Yup.
Solid rebuttal.
