Remember that it's college FOOTBALL, not basketball, so MSU is one of few teams that ND, Indiana and Purdue can collaboratively despise. I'm surprised it wasn't scUM.

Yeah, that's a little shocking. Though, ND is generally not the top hated team on any certain region, I'm pretty sure they'd end up in the top 3 everywhere though. It's kind of like the ND fan base, they're everywhere, just not the majority.

This was a reddit unscientific poll. There were something like 21 votes "from" Vermont with 21 being cast for Maryland. Probably the work of one voter.

Air Force was shown as the state of Idaho's most hated team but AF has only played UID, IDSt, and Boise a COMBINED 8 games. BYU is a more logical target for animosity.

Fans in Alabama didn't vote Ole Miss for anything. Bama fans for generations have hated Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, and anywhere Steve Spurrier coaches. Bama fans over 30 don't recognize any Notre Dame games before 1986.

Auburn fans hate Bama, UGA, and anywhere Steve Spurrier coaches.

OSU edged out UM 9-8 but that included Asia, Europe, and South America. In the USA, if I counted correctly, OSU and UM are in a dead heat for state animus.

GA hate for OSU probably is more about Urban Liar than anything else I think

This map confuses me. MSU in Indiana makes sense if it is a basketball map. Although UK will always be public enemy number one to many IU fans south of Indy, MSU has gained a reputation for spearing in state blue chips and it really pisses off Purdue and IU fans alike that they can't seal the borders.
