Unfortunately a pediatrician, but yeah he moved down to Naplesand working at a children's hospital..just remember if you looked up to your dad which I didn't but a lot of my friends did to their dad's,they followed in their footsteps almost out of fear of disappointment not cause of wanting to..

It's sad that this kid's dad is smart enough to be a doctor but not smart enough to google the statistics regarding how many college football players actually make it to the NFL:

https://www.nflplayers.com/About-us/FAQs/NFL-Hopeful-FAQs/

But sure... roll the dice and sell your practice. Move your whole family for 4 years in hopes that your son will be that lucky 0.2% that will make the show.

Tactical.

To be fair, the odds of the composite 52nd overall making the NFL are significantly higher than your average joe high school football player.

This is what's wrong with parents today. They can't judge real talent, ignore the telltale signs or advice and think their kid is better than they really are.

Not to be "That Guy" but those numbers weren't available when the decision is made. You probably should have used 2013 data. Actually probably should be 2012 data as he would have had to made his decision before the 2013 draft.

Even then, twice as many ND players were selected in the 2012 Draft (4) than Florida players (2).

When you connect the end of one sentence to the beginning of another, be especially careful about punctuation. Of course, this may be a clever example of a careless run on sentence.

Exactly. Kind of reminds me of someone: I won't name names, but his name rhymes with Moe Jontana.

Let me guess. The premise of this thread is that Alex Anzalone will not see meaningful playing time at linebacker, unless Florida schedules another game with Georgia Southern.

Polish Leppy shared the info below with me via PM, since Alex's thread has been closed. Tentatively opening it again since tempers have likely cooled.

Worth keeping in mind, especially as it relates to the Barnett decomittment. We're usually not privy to what's driving these decisions, so we should be slow to condemn the recruits themselves.

Definitely sheds some less negative light on Alex as far as I'm concerned. It's clear Dad was driving the bus. Too bad for Alex. Better hope he's as good as Dad thinks he is...

If he's a pediatrician then he's stupider than we thought. Everybody knows Florida is filled with nothing but old people!

if the dad's a ob/gyn then he should know what a douche is.

"Blinded by the light, cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night"

Btw, dafaq is that song talking about?? Springsteen was on some strong shit when he wrote that one.

Don't care.

The only thing I like about this thread is now more opportunity for JohnnyZone jokes.

Ya so.....Mike Frank posted on ISD today that Anzalone wasn't pushed by his Dad to Florida and if anything his Dad actually preferred ND. Mike Frank added that Anzalone allegedly didn't like Diaco.

I've heard differently for the first part (Dad and UF) but the second part is definitely true (Anzalone and Diaco)

Starting to believe more and more the rumors that Diaco was a dick

Diaco definitely wasn't a fan of his either. Didn't like him.

I understand that there was no doubt about it. The two didn't connect at all. Okay, rumors of mutual open distain are probably accurate.

Interesting, I am not a Diaco fan. I don't particularly dislike him like some, but I never saw the golden child everyone else saw. And I lost all respect when he lied to everybody during that press conference. Sure it was a small thing. But small things are tests of character, principally because they don't usually see the light of day. Ironically, that which was least attractive about the man destined him to clash with a recruit I am convinced would have been more than just a waste for the program, one that would have been the kind of derisive element Kelly and ND just didn't (doesn't) need.

Like you Bogs, didn't worship the guy, but didn't dislike him either. I have heard a lot of smoke about a lot of his own guys not liking him. Nothing specific, just that several thought he was an ass. Me personally, I haven't heard that Anzalone is a pain, or cancer, etc.. In all honesty I stopped following the thread after he left and didn't participate in the bashing or hear any of the rumors. From the little I know, and from what I continue to hear though, is Diaco was an arrogant SOB who was a dick to his own guys, and turned some recruits off. Above, you were pretty strong about AA. Care to expand why you feel that way. PM me if you want to keep the detail on the low. Thanks buddy!

For the longest time I thought the players loved Diaco. I remember Te'o specifically singling out how much he loved playing for him. I always thought that it was weird that he would always mention Diaco and not Kelly, though I understand the bond would be much closer for defensive player and the DC that also coaches the LB's. So anyway, I really thought that the players loved him. Since he left, all I keep seeing is how the players thought he was a jerk and how we lost out on AA. As far as I'm concerned, I appreciate his time here, but I am looking forward to watching a more fun and aggressive defense with an intense guy like BVG leading the way. Personally, I think we are better off and the mustache hair combo of Van Gorder tops Diaco's greased up look anyhow... Lol
