Using that logic, let's just paint a big ol' scrotum in the end zone. We'll watch anyway, so who cares?
I prefer the stripes because it was unique, classy, and humble. I have nothing against an ND or clover on the 50-yard line, so I'm not against modernizing the field.
Should they use that font shown above, I wouldn't be totally against it. But for the love of god let's not make Notre Dame generic.
Buster I'm not sure if you are referring to my comment of them using block lettering when you made your "generic" comment or not. So disregard if not. I am not sold on a block type font being the best font option if they do any lettering at all. I don't think I would view a "college" type font or in other words block lettering as generic, as much as I would see it as "classic", which is a large part of the ND brand in my opinion. My fear would be some awful font choice and with that in mind I'll go with classic college block lettering all day. When it's all said and done I do have confidence in Swarbrick, Kelly and others to make a wise choice that helps represent the ND brand. I just have a nagging fear in back of my mind that sees an ugly font screwing everything up.
