Byron speaks glowingly to Christian about ND. Admits ND fits him 'perfectly' and that distance is really the only discouraging factor in his mind. Coming back for an OV for the Stanford game.

Odd that Christian says Oregon is leading for him given that statement. I think Oregon is about as far away from home that he can get.

He also called himself a hypocrite if he didn't choose ND.

Sometimes you need that structured environment. It’s just whether you want to give it up or not. I told him, I was like, ‘To be honest, Notre Dame does fit me perfect.’ Either I’ll be a hypocrite and don’t go or...but I’m weighing my options. The biggest thing is my mom. I’m an only child and moving all of the way there from Florida, that would be the only reason if I didn’t go to Notre Dame.”

Its really good that he realizes ND fits him perfectly. Thats the first step in this crazy uphill battle. Having the awareness to say that he'd be a hypocrite if didn't come to ND. Haha, this kid is great. I'm going to be rooting for this kid but man I really hope he plays for ND.

Isn't the statement hypocritical in that he is worried about distance but then Oregon leads?

The Oregon as his leader thing is all fluff. He's probably going to UF with Cece Jefferson. Feels like Lorenzo Carter again in terms of his relation to ND.

Apparently Oregon leads because of the Nike connection because Byron thinks that will help in his quest to be a sports broadcaster after his playing days, per Christian.

Thanks. Oregon has been creative story tellers this year, huh?

The ball is in ND's court now. I don't at all believe that Oregon leads. Honestly, I think they have almost no chance. It's a ND-UF battle. If he OV's, then I think they have a chance to lock it up. It would especially help if his mom visits with him.

We're battling UF for two pretty big time recruits (Coney the other).

Any idea how they'll be this year? Last year I know they were shit.

They've got a very tough schedule and are on their 3rd OC in four years. I think they bomb this year and fire Muschamp.

Man, they sell the bejeezus out of that. Also the graphic/apparel design connections. Sometimes it helps to be a wholly owned subsidiary of the world's biggest sneaker company.
Wouldn't hold my breath on Cowart actually leaving Florida. But it's nice to hear we're really in the mix.

Vegas has their win o/u at 7.5.

They should have the usual stingy D and their new OC is Roper from Duke who people think very, very highly of.

4 of their 8 losses last year were by 6 points or less, and none of their 4 wins were close games.

Schedule is tough: at Bama, at FSU, neutral site against Georgia. LSU and South Carolina at home. Those are 5 of the top 15 teams. Plus games at Tenn and vs. Mizzou. They could be a Top-25 team and still go 7-5 or 6-6.
