Should be a solid inside corner locking down slot receivers ... anyone know his vert? Does he have a chance to play outside at 5'8?

The guys at II said that he played much bigger than he really is on Friday. They eluded to him looking much better than they thought playing on the outside.

I truly believe he will be a major force inside, outside, PR walking the dog, etc etc lol.

Although he flashes good aggressiveness for his size, Crawford isn't ideally suited for press-man coverage. He would function best in off-man and zone concepts.

Thought this was interesting since I had the opposite impression of why BVG wanted him. All in all, not the most glowing evaluation, but it's from a non-ND source so it's good to get outsiders' takes IMO.

Sounds like his performance at II was everything and more than the ND reporters expected.

Best player on the best team in Ohio (and preseason #7 in the country).

Add 2 inches this kid is an unanimous 5:s: no doubt

been saying that forever. If Crawford was 6 ft + he'd be a 5* easily. He has everything else but the height/length.

No they aren't, but a good set of arch supports can fix that.

Those SPARQ scores are kind of stupid if you ask me.

I look at the vertical, shuttle, and 40. Crawford had excellent numbers in all three of those categories. 39" vertical, 3.94 shuttle and 4.48 in the 40 are explosive testing numbers. With his tape and what he does on the field along with those kind of testing numbers, if this kid was even 5'11, 190 he'd be a 5* DB prospect.

Agreed, I hope my post didn't come off as disappointment. I was genuinely excited for him and realize he's an explosive player. We all just saw video of him at the II camp and he looked fantastic. So again totally agree and apologize if it came off any different.

I'm thinking that our Opening commits are in for a nice 247 bump.

I haven't been this excited about ND's Opening commits since Deontay and Co. (eventhough that didn't really pan out)

I put the most value in the 20 yd. shuttle. That shows a kids agility and athleticism having to change direction twice at full speed. 40 times show athleticism but not how it correlates to the field.

I hate looking too far ahead but looking at the 2015 secondary, we're gonna have KVR, Luke, Watkins, Redfield, Shumate, Baratti, Crawford, Coleman, and McKinney.

Oh Lawwwwd

That is fantastic depth, experience, and skill at corner and FS. My only concern in the backfield is experience at SS. It's important that Baratti's injury woes are behind him, IMO, until Tranquill or McKinney are ready to contribute significant playing time.

I'm right there with you. I hate saying this because you always want to win now or every time you compete. However, 2015 sets up for the entire team to be ready to go. We should only lose 1 player of significance in Ishaq. This freshman class (that i think is underrated) will be sophomores and the senior and junior classes will be comprised of some serious talent.

I think Tranquill will be playing LB. I've stood next to him a few times he's easily 6'3", 225 IMO.

We have tough games against Texas, Clemson, USC, and Stanford; other than that, the schedule isn't bad. And with our 2015 roster, I think we should win at least 2 of those 4 tough games

I really hope we beat the hell out of Clemson. Really sick of the hype their dirty program (my opinion, no info) is getting.

But yeah, 2015 on paper says we'll be the real deal, although I'm cautiosly optimistic because I felt the same way about the 2006 team coming back off of the great 2005 year, and they seemed to take a step back.

I'll never compare a Notre Dame team led by Charlie Weis to a Notre Dame team led by Brian Kelly.

Yea, BK's system really does develop players. Kids that buy in and do whats asked of them get better from year to year.
