In dealing with adults on an everyday basis, I can assure you that people are dumb. Even people who have kids that are being recruited are flat out dumb.

If I had a penny for every time I was asked "if this is the White House"..while standing in front of the White House..I'd be a wealthy man. Fact is, people, a lot of people, are just dumb.

What's that have to do with recruiting? A lot of parents that are involved in recruiting are easy prey. Most couldn't see past the BS. So when you ponder how parents don't see through the slime, just remember people are dumb.

Hilliard will be terrific and hopefully he changes course and selects ND. If not then good luck to him. Cornell will wash out. The system will catch up to him eventually unless he gets an attitude fix.

There's no ill will. And I'm allowed to be ticked off at missing Hilliard. It is what it is. We move on with who we have plus White, Boykins, Bilal etc. (I'm assuming with those 3. You get the idea.)

As far as Hillard and Cornell go, good luck to them at OSU but I don't think either is a 5* talent.

Cornell ate his way out of that 5* ranking, and while Hilliard is very good, LB is a damn hard position to scout accurately. For me to agree with a LB being rated 5*'s, he better be stupid good in HS like Rueben Foster or Manti Te'o or stupid athletic like Jaylon Smith. Hilliard is neither.

Just because Hilliard isn't as good of a prospect doesn't mean he isn't a 5*. Hilliard might be a borderline 5* talent, Jaylon was a consensus top 5 overall talent conservatively.

Hilliard is about as complete and polished a LB prospect as you can ask for coming out of high school, and while maybe not the freak athlete that Jaylon is is still fantastically athletic. IMO a better prospect than Nyles Morgan even if not massively so.

Honestly, I have Morgan and Hilliard at about the same level. From what I saw, they have very similar game film, though that's comparing Hilliard's Jr year to Morgan's Sr and Jr year, so take it FWIW. Hilliard seemed better as a pass rusher, but I liked Morgan more in run defense. Both have good pursuit and hit like a friggin' freight train. Jaylon is simply unparalleled by any in terms of freakish athleticism. Comparing Hilliard to a current prospect, Bilal. Hilliard definitely is more polished, but I think Bilal is more athletic and may have more upside if he puts in the work to get more technically sound. Kind of a Diet Jaylon. It'd definitely ease the pain of losing Hilliard with somebody like Bilal and maybe Coney on board.

Anyway you are right, when they faced two real teams (MSU and Clemson) they lost easily. This year they have the weakest schedule i have ever seen, they are a lock to the play offs. Sooner or later, OSU will be on top. They just have so many talent that is overwhelming.
