They are still recruiting (Williams has an offer but they have other RBs higher up on their board) as I understand it, but their current depth chart is ridiculous. Best in the nation IMO. That being said they had significant injuries to Gurley and Marshall so playing time is possible even with Chubb coming in.

I feel confident in saying that the Gamecock recruitniks dont like Williams' recruiter Everrett Sands for several reasons. From what I have been gathering he is not connecting with Ty'son and it looks like there are other RBs they have a better chance with. I do not think USC will end up being a player here. Also there is a pattern with him and RBs. Chubb visited twice then scratched USC off. Elijah Hood removed them after working out for Sands....basically they have whiffed on every big time RB since Lattimore.

Wow, hopefully all that stuff lines up for us in the end. That would be tough to stomach if your a USCe fan, but it certainly plays in our favor and we need him. I hope he can get up to ND soon for his visit, I think he will love it!

Scout: Sounds like ND is out. He is very close to deciding and won't make it to ND for a visit. Visiting UGA soon, already visited So. Caro and UNC.

Gotta say, this is quite odd. ND was apparently his leader only what, two or three weeks ago??... Now, we're out.

It's recruiting so I get it can be perplexing most often than not, but I wonder what changed his mind. From all accounts, he had (should still say "has") a great and positive relationship with Alford..

Interesting scenario, nonetheless.

ND may have said he's a no take since they got Adams.

I'd be surprised if the coaching staff was willing to take his commitment at this point. I think there are bigger fish on the board that they'd like to make a long play for. Perhaps Brosette even comes back into the fold (given today's update). If the offense plays as expected, no back taken last year, Adams coming off ACL tear, and one of the best collections of young OL talent in the country (if not THE best)...I think getting that back they are looking for will be one of the easier holes in this recruiting class to fill. More concerned with whether they get the elite pass rusher.

Makes you wonder... That's three kids now that we either had committed or at some point had us as their leader in Bernard, Hood, and Williams. I do not like it Sir, I do not like it.

I thought ND backed off of him.

I thought ND backed off of him.

That may be the case, but from what I understand, coaches got into his ears putting ND in a negative light and he bought it. Also a newfound desire to play closer to home.

I think Josh Adams took his spot. Josh committed on 6/30 and on 7/11 Williams said that Notre Dame wasn't even in his top 5.

If the staff wants two running backs, they'd be crazy to take Williams when the chances of landing Soso seem to be very high.

I don't disagree with that at all. I still think there were other factors though.
