I have a feeling Eason's recruitment may be quite entertaining.
I think he is probably 3rd or 4th on NDs board as of now. Good prospect and would fit, but there are some others that add more value to what Notre Dame would like from the position.
The overwhelming positive, is Notre Dame, whether its Kelly/Denbrock/Lafluer, have finally identified top prospects early on.
No dis-respect to Beneventi, or Alviti, but the kids coming into South Bend from the '16 class are elite prospects, and difference makers. I would side on that it was Martin that was after the Beneventi/Alviti's bc they have midwest ties.
But Notre Dame will get their guy in '16.I have no worries about that.
They got handcuffed in '12 and '14 by circumstances. Coming into '12, they thought they'd have 4 QBs on the Roster with Dayne starting for 2 years + Tommy/Andrew/Golson developing. They were all set to pass, and then Dayne shit the bed against South Florida. Ended up backdooring into Gunner Kiel.
Ironically, Gunner Kiel then caused us to be late in '14. We were all set to pass again early on, but then Kiel transferred and there was uncertainty with Golson. We made a late run at Kyle Allen and then lucked into DeShone Kizer.
In '15 we identified Barnett as early as anyone and did a great job securing his commitment. Then he flaked out. Really unfortunate as we would've made a run at a lot of other guys we had also identified and surely landed one.
This is my concern for '16 with guys like Pass, Henry, etc. They're coming from tough pull areas and with a presumed miss in '15 I don't know if you can roll the dice again. If you can lock down Eason, that gives you a superior pocket passer with very low decommit probability. I think you take that for sure.
